Last week’s comments from Danish model Rie Rasmussen have caused a deluge of anti-Terry Richardson stories.

At the end of Paris fashion week, she said, “He takes girls who are young, manipulates them to take their clothes off and takes pictures of them they will be ashamed of.”

A few days later, model Jamie Peck wrote, “This man has built his business/pleasure empire on breaking the cardinal rule of asking a young girl you don’t know to come over to your house and hang out naked: don’t be a fucking creep.” And yesterday, Jezebel’s Jenna Sauers published a handful of stories from models who’ve had similar experiences with the legendary photographer.

As more models come forward, we’ve started to wonder if this will actually affect his career. The man shoots for everyone, and we do mean everyone — from American Vogue to Purple, from H&M to Tom Ford, even Lacoste — and our instincts say no, he’ll continue to be one of the most in demand fashion photographers.

So we went to the source. We asked a few editors, writers, publicists and stylists what they think of what’s happened, and what will happen to Richardson within the industry, and promised anonymity. Surprise! Almost everyone thinks the same thing. Read more »

Pouf! As if the fall runways weren’t enough to make you want big hair–Rochas, Oscar, Dior–how’s this stunning Inez & Vinoodh image of Hilary Rhoda? {FashionGoneRogue}

Out of Print: David James, the creative director of AnOther Magazine, has been creative directing for over 20 years, for brands like Prada, McQueen and the Dazed group. He’s launched an online exhibition, Out of Print, which includes an iconic shot or two. {DavidJames via AnOther}

Funny HaHa: This blog took Derek Blasberg to Forever21 and made him whip up both ‘classy’ and ‘trashy’ outfits in the name of his book. We must say, the photos to this point in the book (Byrdie Bell and Starworks’ Lyle Maltz play models) are incredibly entertaining. {Crushable}

White Out: Tavi’s gone white! Her blue locks have turned to silver-white, and she’s rocking a bob a la Anna. We think it suits her! {StyleRookie}

3-D Print: Jesus Luz and Cintia Dicker star in the fall 2010 campaign for Ellus Leather Denim. The campaign was shot by Jacques Dequeker, and the crazy part is that it’s in 3-D. But don’t we need glasses to see the effect? {Fashionisto}

Let the W Buzz Begin

On Wednesday, it was announced that W Magazine would leave the Fairchild Fashion Group and land in the Condé Nast pile, and that the magazine will finally get an editor-in-chief.

And that’s the only question anyone cares about — who will be the editor-in-chief?

This morning, WWD published the five names everyone’s talking about. At the top of the list is Stefano Tonchi, the editor of T: The New York Times Style magazine. Tonchi was spotted at 4 Times Square last July, in the midst of the Times’ Style downsizing, and most speculated he’d end up at Vogue. Early talks about this job, however, sounds like a more likely explanation. Read more »

Exposure PR needs interns.

The company, which is headquartered in London, needs some help in their New York office. Aside from Doc Marten’s, they work with Justin Giunta, Fred Perry, G-shock, Incase and a handful of other brands and they need help starting now.

Interns will be responsible for the usual tasks — admin, sample tracking, working with press & buyers — but also get plenty of hands on experience working with market research and reporting. In fact, given all the excitement surrounding Doc Marten’s 50th anniversary, we bet this internship will be just as much fun as it is hard work.

You must be available for three to four days per week, and ready to start immediately. If you’re up for it, email brittany@exposure.net.

Because Alaïa Is Everything

“We thought we couldn’t call ourselves a fashion authority without having Alaïa.” –Linda Fargo to Cathy Horyn

We went to Quintessentially and Tommy Hilfiger’s premiere of The Runaways last night, and while Kristen Stewart looked amazing in Pucci and Dakota Fanning even better in Elie Saab on the red carpet (or East Houston stretch of cement), it was the clothes in the movie that had us gushing.

The movie opens with Dakota and Riley Keogh in knee highs and massive platforms, before panning to Kristen’s tight leather jacket. Then we’re on to vintage baby tees, super wide-leg bell bottoms and jumpsuits. Six inch wedges get glitter, Joan Jett gets leather pants, and eventually, 15-year-old Cherie Curie ends up in a corset and thigh highs.

The make-up? It’s perfect, too. Kristen’s perpetual smoky eye comes in brown, instead of black, while Dakota’s eyeshadow actually does look like silver lame.

And aside from the inspiring clothes and make-up, the movie’s actually good. Kristen Stewart was born to play Joan Jett, Michael Shannon’s performance is incredible, and Maeby Fünke plays bass in the band.

Alex Wang, Marc Jacobs, Up for Big CFDAs

Nadja Swarovski and Diane von Furstenburg announced the 2010 CFDA nominees at Diane’s studio last night.

Diane called Nadja the “godmother” of fashion, and when Nadja suggested that title belongs to Diane, Diane countered, “No! I’m the grandmother!” And she did sound maternal, correcting Nadja’s mispronounced designer names. After reading the nominees, Stephen Kolb took the podium to officially announce that Diane will stay on as president of the CFDA. He also mentioned that despite the mixed reaction to including bloggers in the voting process, the CFDA’s happy with their decision.

Donna Karan, Marc Jacobs and Alexander Wang are up for the big one, women’s wear designer of the year. Rag & Bone, Tom Ford and Michael Bastian will compete for menswear designer of the year. Meanwhile, the Swarovski awards go to emerging designers, those who’ve particularly excelled in the past two seasons, and Joseph Altuzarra, Prabal Gurung and Jason Wu will probably split the votes pretty evenly for women’s wear while Richard Chai, Simon Spurr and Patrik Ervell battle it out for menswear.

On the accessories front, Alexis Bittar joins past winners Marc, Jack and Lazaro for the big one, while Eddie Borgo, Dana Lorenz (of Fenton/Fallon) and Alex Wang battle it out for Swarovski’s accessories award.

The rest, after the jump. Read more »

Kim Noorda’s Food Diary, in Vogue

“I gained 1.6 pounds in three days…Not a single person has told me that I have gained weight since the start of the shows. Not during the castings, and not even my European agent has said anything. Everything fit. This confused me, because I thought people could see every gram…My legs and cheeks have become fatter. I really need to do something about that.” –An excerpt from Kim Noorda’s disturbing diary in next month’s Vogue.

Our Top 9 Sandals for Spring

Nothing makes me want a 5″ wedge like sunshine and iced coffee, so I spent the morning browsing the sandal section from Barneys to Bonadrag.

It’s not quite warm enough for shorts, but open toed shoes are the perfect compromise.

Two months ago, no one was more anti-clog than I, but now I’m dreaming of the Swedish Hasbeens stacked at left and wondering why I didn’t grab a pair in Paris.

If you favor flats instead, or platforms, or even old fashioned heels, we’ve picked our top nine sandals for Spring 2010. Click through for the list! Read more »

Are You Kidding Me?

“Guessing game is over. My source and I are the victim of a good prank played by Mr. Tisci himself. He got us good :( ” –Tommy Ton tweets.
