How I’m Making It: Andrea and Elisa from Dieppa Restrepo

Andrea Vargas Dieppa and Elisa Restrepo, the two Colombian natives behind hot shoe line Dieppa Restrepo seem more like friends than business partners when I meet them at their Lower East Side showroom for a chat. The laidback designers are two peas in a pod, finishing each other’s sentences and dissolving into giggles as they look back on their four years working together.

They’re always saying things like, ‘That reminds me of this one time’, or ‘True story…’, but regardless of the topic things usually come back to their life’s passion: their label.

William Okpo takes its name from the girls’ Nigerian father, who immigrated to New York in 1976 with $80 in his pocket (their mom joined him soon after).

Keija Minor Becomes Conde Nast’s First Ever African-American Editor-in-Chief

Anne Fulenwider subsequently left Brides to take Coles’ vacated Marie Claire job, which left Brides without anyone at the helm–until now. Keija Minor has just been named Brides‘ new Editor-in-Chief, and shockingly, Minor will be the very first African-American to ever head up any of the 18 titles at Conde Nast.
