Diane von Furstenburg Will Continue to Kick Ass as the President of the CFDA for the Next Two Years

Diane von Furstenberg is one popular lady when it comes to the CFDA: The organization announced today that the designer will continue her reign as their president until at least 2014, WWD is reporting, making this her fourth term as president since her election in 2006 (the elections are held every two years) and the second time the board has extended her tenure. In other words, DVF is doing a kickass job and they want her to keep chugging along.

“Diane has done an excellent job as CFDA president,” Steven Kolb, CFDA chief creative officer, told the trade. “The time and resources she gives and the vision she has created is a huge benefit for our organization and industry.”

We Went With Kelly Cutrone to Surprise 10 High School Seniors With Prom Makeovers and Someone Cried (But Not Outside)

Ah, prom. The memories, the dresses, the awkward dances, and… Kelly Cutrone? Yep, if you attend Newburgh Free Academy in Newburgh, NY, Cutrone will be a part of your prom memories, too.

We headed out to Newburgh Wednesday to meet high school senior Rachel, the winner of Nine West’s Prom Crashers with Kelly Cutrone contest, which gave high school students the chance to win full prom makeovers (including hair and makeup, Nine West custom-made dresses and shoes, and prom and style tips from the publicist-cum-reality TV star).

“I was just sitting with my assistant principal talking about college, and all of a sudden Kelly Cutrone pops in and says ‘You’ve been Prom’d!’” Rachel said. “I was crying. I never thought this would happen to me, and this was the best way to end senior year.” [Ed. note: She presumably was not told to go outside.]

Kelly Cutrone On Janice Dickinson: ‘She’s an Erratic, Unpredictable Bitch’

If there is one person in the industry no one wants to piss off, it’s Kelly Cutrone. [Ed. note: OK, really it's Anna Wintour, but she won't put your shit on blast like Cutrone.] The lifestyle guru, America’s Next Top Model judge, and PR maven is known for telling it exactly how it is, no matter who it is. The most recent victim of her acid tongue? Janice Dickinson.

Dickinson, who seems to enjoy running her mouth about anything in order to stir the pot, recently mouthed off about her former employer, Tyra Banks, calling her “soulless, heartless, and cold.”

We hung out with Cutrone recently (more on that later) and she told us she’s “gotten really close with Tyra.” So what did she think about the choice words Dickinson had for her Top Model boss?

Fashion News Roundup: Imagining Sex and the City in 2012, What Karl Lagerfeld Thinks of Kate Middleton’s Style, and Daphne Guinness’ Wardrobe Auction Starts

Someone online has apparently been selling tickets to “another Victoria’s Secret fashion show.” Thankfully, between beach photo shoots and generally being hot, Angel Adriana Lima has time to set the record straight. {YouTube}

Would Carrie be Carrie without her Manolos, or would she be just as witty in Pierre Hardy? Would Samantha still work in PR or in social media marketing? Find out what Sex and the City would be like if it was filmed in 2012. Admit it, you want Carrie Bradshaw on Twitter. {Buzzfeed Shift}

Karl Lagerfeld on Kate Middleton’s style: he wouldn’t change a thing. {The Hollywood Reporter}

The 10 Most Hilarious Things We Overheard From the Crowds Outside the CFDA Awards

The CFDA awards is one of the most glamorous fashion events of the year–except when you’re outside with the masses of screaming fans and curious onlookers, which is where I was. Since my invitation surely got lost in the mail (and maybe because I’m one of those fans), I decided to stake out the event. Between getting wedged in the photographer’s pit and later put in a “cage” (a barrier set up against a wall to contain the fans without an exit), things got a little wild. Despite being contained, I heard plenty of interesting things in the two hours I stood out there.

Here are the ten funniest things I overheard outside the awards:

A High School Junior Reports: 10 Things I Learned at Teen Vogue Fashion University About Getting a Job in Fashion (Hint: Rap)

Every year teens from across the globe flock to Teen Vogue‘s annual Fashion University in hopes of rubbing elbows with fashion’s elite and networking to score that dream internship. The three-day event features seminars and parties for the aspiring teen magazine editors, models, photographers and designers. This year I was lucky enough to attend. I sat in on seminars lead by Michael Kors, Alexander Wang, Linda Fargo and Teen Vogue editors.

Here’s what I learned:
