It’s been a decade now since Lauren Weisberger first published The Devil Wears Prada–a juicy roman a clef about her time working for Anna Wintour that spawned a hit movie in 2006, starring Anne Hathaway as the abused assistant Andy Sachs and Meryl Streep as the Wintour-esque Miranda Priestly.
Well, bad news for Andy: The devil is back.

Vena Cava has called out Alice + Olivia over Instagram for ripping off one of its prints.
The image the brand posted to its Instagram account features a dress from Vena Cava’s fall 2012 collection (left) next to a print from Alice + Olivia’s pre-spring 2013 collection (right). The caption? “@alice_olivia Please stop being “inspired” by our prints from last season. Get a library card.” Wowza. Nothing subtle about that.
Big news from the Model Alliance hit our inbox this morning: They’re announcing that the state of New York is making major legal strides towards protecting child models.
A segment by online news show The Young Turks, which takes T magazine to task for featuring a thin Julia Nobis on their cover, recently went viral. Co-host Cenk Uygur refers to Nobis as “disgusting” more than once during the course of the video, adding that she’s “obviously anorexic,” prompting no less than Nobis’s dad Eddy to chime in, blasting Uygur in the comments.
Now Uygur’s at it again in what is ostensibly intended as an apology video, but which ends with Ugyur blasting the fashion industry as a whole. He finishes the video visibly heated, saying that “the fashion industry is full of shit” and that they “don’t know what’s appealing on this planet.”
I think it’s Ugyur who’s full of shit.
The 2013 CFDA awards, fashion’s Oscars if you will, will be handed out in mere hours. The industry has been gathering to recognize and honor its leading talents since 1981.
A lot has changed since the early years of the awards. What was once a small intimate industry event is now a widely covered celebrity event. “I think it reflects a broader shift over the last few years where fashion has become more and more popular,” Style.com’s editor in chief Dirk Standen told us. “The internet has had a lot to do with that. It’s entertainment on a par with movies and music.”
