Say it with me: VA-GI-NA. Goooood.
Playtex just introduced Fresh + Sexy “intimate wipes” for all your pre- and post-coital cleansing needs. Think baby wipes, but for sex.
For generations, couples have been using tissues, the guy’s t-shirt, or their roommates’ bath towel to clean up after a quickie, but Playtex saw a hole in the market that needed filling. (Get used to the double entendres, because that isn’t the last one you’ll be reading.)
The last time we caught up with Jenn Rogien, costume designer behind hit HBO series Girls, she told us about her collaboration aspirations, which haven’t taken long to materialize in the form of a new gig with American Eagle-affiliated intimates brand aerie.
That the designer of a show like Girls, where much camera time is given to semi-nude/pantsless twentysomethings, ended up working with an intimates brand, didn’t come as much of a shock to us. Or to Rogien.
We chatted with the budding stylist-turned-mogul about the collab, underwear trends, awkward fittings and more.
“Is that a one-inch flexible extension in your panties or are you just happy to see me?” If you’re wearing something called the “PantyO,” you can confidently answer that it is the former.
PantyO, a product which we stumbled upon on More‘s website, is a bit of a head scratcher for us. While we’ve debated everything from whether or not Brazilian waxes should still be a thing to the pros and cons of a fur merkin (and we consider ourselves connoisseurs of the ladyparts product market), this one is a first for us.
Let us preface this by saying, between the vajazzling and the peacocking of the privates, we’re not sure we can take much more of these “downtown decorating” trends. However, we’ve been accosted by so many images of fluffy, furry crotches lately, that we decided to delve deeper (ahem).
Last week we learned about Real Housewife of New York alum Cindy Barshop’s newest offering for nether region adornment: the “Foxy Bikini,” which is essentially a merkin made of fox fur and dyed an unnatural color. (PS: you’ll be happy to know that she’s switching to faux fox after PETA and others caused a ruckus.) Then at the Thom Browne menswear show a few weeks ago (left) we noticed some fur (a man-erkin?) peeking out of low cut trousers.
We had to learn more about the history of this colorful accessory. Consider this your Cliff’s Notes for merkins.
