It’s a good time to be an Alexa Chung fanatic. The fashion darling, who’s fast becoming the Karl Lagerfeld of the It-girl world, is releasing her first cosmetics collaboration — with British brand Eyeko — in an effort to help her faithful followers attain their icon’s signature makeup look. And lo! We’ve managed to sneak ourselves a peek.
It’s just sooooo coooooool.
Guy Bourdin, the French photographer who produced some of the most daring and iconic fashion and advertising photographs of the 1970s and 1980s, inspired NARS’ next big makeup collection.
So, the NARS international lead makeup stylist showed us how to go out of our makeup comfort zone to get the collection’s bold, ’70s look.
Using products and tools you probably already have in your bathroom, we’re going to show you the seven simple steps to getting a perfect, long-lasting, wine-colored pout. Best of all? We used Instagram video to illustrate all of it. You legit can’t mess this one up.
Making the fairly safe bet that girls still want to look like Alexa Chung, cosmetics company Eyeko has tapped the perennial it-girl to consult on and be the face of a new makeup line.
Chung knew the partnership with Eyeko was a good fit because, she told WWD, “if something excites me or I’m inspired by something, loads of ideas fall out of my head.” And when she met with Eyeko founders Max and Nina Leykind the ideas came tumbling forth. Or maybe it was just that she had a hangover–Chung admits that was a possibility as well.
We first heard way back in February that Jason Wu was collaborating with Lancôme on a limited edition makeup range–but there’s nothing like seeing a collection up-close and personal to get you really ramped up. And last night, at the line’s official press launch at NoHo’s Indochine restaurant, we were finally able to do just that.
