We already know there are cat fashion bloggers; so it follows of course that there would also be cat fashion designers.

A few days ago, a friend of mine (who obviously knows me really well) linked me to an Etsy shop called CatAtelier, which, naturally, sells a delightful assortment of carefully crafted ties, neckpieces and hats for felines. Both the quality of these designs and the fact that this existed completely blew my mind and I had to know more. So, I reached out to the obviously talented designer for an interview and she obliged. It turns out Julie Song went to Parsons and has a BFA in illustration as well as a very obedient cat. Click through to see her amazing designs and learn more about who she is, how and why she got into feline fashion design, and her plans to branch out into cat clothes!

If we keep talking about how much we like cats in fashion, will it keep happening? Hope so. This Jason Wu for Target commercial stars Wu’s muse, the cartoon cat Milu. As you can see, the beribboned kitty is more than just the star of the commercial (and this massive billboard in TriBeCa), he’s also the designer of the collection. Watch:

Looks like Karl Lagerfeld could have a new muse! The designer shared this photo of his new cat with V Magazine’s Stephen Gan, who tweeted it, adding “Hello Kitties @LadyGaga @formichetti! Karl’s Lagerfeld‘s sunday night photo: meet Choupette, his new kitten. -SG.” Aw. Don’t you just want to snuggle her?

Cross your fingers that this means we can expect some cat-themed clothing to walk the runway at Chanel!

Fashion has a long and storied history of using cats in campaigns. Not so much in beauty–it’s usually a whole lot of humans giving us smoldering looks with impossibly flowy hair. Until now. Read more »

If you are a regular reader of this site, the fact that we’ve put together this gift guide should come as no surprise. We’re kinda into cats. And fashion. Hence, this gift guide of items we wouldn’t mind getting ourselves (wink, wink).

We’re obviously not the only crazies into fashion and cats. As evidenced by this extensive guide, lots of retailers think that lots of people are into fashion-y cat things. And we think they’re right.

Take a look at what we found.

In case you aren’t already one of her loyal followers, we’d like to introduce you to Luna the Fashion Kitty. After becoming a sensation on YouTube and Facebook, as cats are wont to do, Luna snagged a gig blogging for Catster. “Dress Fur Impress” is essentially a personal style blog not unlike the Man Repeller or Fashion Toast, except run by a fluffy Himalayan cat.

If you’re thinking there is no way a cat could have enough outfits to fill up a blog, you are sorely mistaken. Luna probably has more outfits than many humans and a closet deserving of a Coveteur feature.

Yay. What a lovely Friday treat. Sure Caroline Trentini looks completely miz on the cover of Harper’s Bazaar Brazil’s December issue but who cares because there’s a cute cat! Maybe she’s allergic? The fluffster features in the editorial as well. Check it out. Also included, for no particular reason other than that they are awesome, more cat-covered fashion mags. Enjoy.

We love it when a designer or stylist decides to throw a cat element into a shoot for an added dash of cuteness. We love it even more, though, when they really commit. In Australian label Stylestalker’s latest look book for their “Baby’s on Fire” collection, you can tell that the model, Anja Konstantinova–who poses gracefully throughout the look book with an adorable white cat (while sometimes wearing cat ears herself)–really, really loves cats. Why? Because she has, in addition to three cats of her own, four cat-themed tattoos: “Cat” in Russian on her arm, “Meow” on her inner lower lip, “Cat” in English on the back of her neck and a drawing of a cat on her torso, all of which you can see in the first video below.

She also talks about how she gets along well with cats because she feels like she’s “a bit of a cat” herself and reckons she was a cat in a past life. She’s basically the prettiest cat lady ever.

Would You Rather…? The Cat Slippers Edition

Fans of cats and velvet slippers have a bevy of footwear options to choose from, it turns out. On the left, we have Charlotte Olympia’s “Kitty Flats,” which we’ve been obsessed with since they hit Charlotte’s website. They have cat faces embroidered in gold on the toes and also come in pumps and platform wedges. Swoon. The shoe on the right is collaboration between Tibi and Del Toro and features a cute little drawing of a pink cat that appears to be wearing underwear. Read more »

Here at Fashionista, we spend a lot of time looking at designers’ ad campaigns, especially within the last few weeks as the fall ads drop. We’ve even dedicated four slideshows to ranking them. After seeing the same ads in September issue after September issue, you can’t blame us for wanting to find a new way to look at them. Inspired by a recent post on OC Weekly, we realized we could actually improve the fall ads using photoshop and pictures of something else we spend a lot of time looking at: cats. So, without further ado, here are 11 fall ad campaigns improved by some adorable cats.
