Beyonce! J. Lo! Mary J. Blige! And all of them forgot to wear pants.
Little Mix–made up of Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson, and Jade Thirlwall–are getting ready to take over the US with their debut album DNA (which, just 15 minutes after becoming available at midnight today, landed the number two spot on the iTunes charts). Their ’90s R&B sounds and “Girl Power” message will surely fill the Spice Girls-shaped hole left in your heart.
And the ’90s influence doesn’t stop at their sound: The girls, who were all born after 1990, frequently reference characters like Kelly Kapowski of Saved by the Bell and Hillary Banks of Fresh Prince of Bel-Air as style icons.
We talk ’90s style and fashion regrets with the girls of Little Mix.
We gasped out an empathetic “Ouch!” when we saw pictures of Julianne Moore on the Cannes red carpet with her pinky toes looking mangled in a too-narrow pair of platform stilettos. But it apparently wasn’t as bad as it looked.
Moore went on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon to talk about the now-infamous shoe shots seen ’round-the-world, which she hilariously dubbed “Toemageddon.”
There are a lot of celebrities at Cannes–many of whom may or may not have any real reason to be there other than for photo opportunities. Nobody questions it, though. Which is why Psy’s apparent presence at the film festival didn’t raise a single eyebrow–even though it turned out it wasn’t even him.
Despite the fact that Gwyneth Paltrow was totally miserable at the Met Gala and is never going back, she featured it on this week’s edition of goop.
In what may be a clue as to why she had such a horrible time, there is a big frosty dirty martini featured in one of the behind-the-scenes shots. Hard liquor, plus a long sleeved gown and a hot room, plus probably not eating anything before she hit the red carpet, could definitely equal misery. And we know how Gwyneth feels about martinis…
Did someone try to make her eat bread?
Kim Kardashian has gotten a lot of shit for the custom floral Givenchy gown she wore to Monday night’s Met Gala. Still, we lol’ed a little at this tweet from Robin Williams.
