The first solid details on the tentatively titled MAC at Milk shows we’ve been talking about since the cosmetics company decided to end its partnership with IMG leaving Maybelline to jump in as the official makeup sponsor at Bryant Park.

And the initial list of designers signed on for events at Milk Studios is very, very strong: Proenza Schouler, Alexander Wang, Peter Som, Threeasfour, Vena Cava, Band of Outsiders, Adam Lippes, Altuzarra, Barbara Tfank, Costello Tagliapietra, Erin Fetherston, Pamela Love, Preen and Temperley London.

A list of things we loved at Adam Lippes:

1. That it was held at the general theological seminary garden - who knew so much greenery and history existed just east of the West Side Highway?

2. That they served us vodka sodas - at 2 pm

3. That Snoop Dogg played while the models strode down the runway donning rasta-ish hats.

4. The gray skirt and blazer combo - totally reminds us of our high school years. (And we’re pretty sure we don’t have to make the most obvious TV reference ever right here…)

5. All the sheer whites and peekaboo crochet. Apparently, according to the shows we’ve seen so far, we better hit the gym- everything’s been sheer, sheer, sheer.

6. The fuscias, yellows and bright blues - they totally brightened up our dreary day.

7. Watching Iekeliene leave in a very Iekeliene outfit - rainbow zig zag tights with a rainbow headband to match.

Forget Mary-Kate, this season Band of Outsiders, Adam Lippes, Obedient Daughters, Derek Lam, and Preen are channeling Elmer Fudd. So you can show off your purple dresses at the Box but I’ll be hunting wabbits in my long johns and duck boots. Shhhhh, be vewwwy, vewwwy quiet.

We hope everyone really likes purple, because we’re betting every fashion magazine will have a spread called “Violet Femmes” or something close to that come September. Adam Lippes had more than a few purple pieces in his line-up, and even showed aubergine pants for boys a la Friday’s Duckie Brown.

His fall collection from yesterday afternoon was very well-attended (Anna was front and center,) which we take to mean that Adam will pop up on the likes of Gwyneth in an autumn garden-themed shoot in the English countryside in about six months.

Indeed it was one of those collection from which you’d wear any piece - nothing that you’d die of excitement over, but you would certainly be the most polished girl in the room.

Of note: Adam was yet another collection featuring high-waisted, wide-leg trousers, as seen at Alexander Wang, Ohne Titel and Peter Som (more on those last two later.)

Will everyone look like Katherine Hepburn come fall? We can’t wait to find out.
