Our Time in Edun

edunshirt1_edited-1.jpgWe all know Ali Hewson and that guy, Bono, she’s married to are kind of saving the world—one microdebt and cause at a time. But seriously, they do really good work that makes me feel like a total loser for not doing enough.

But I’ve got a little something we can do. Starting today exclusively at SaksFifthAvenue.com and edunonline.com, a special series of Edun tees that Ali designed in collaboration with artist Jo Ratcliffe will go on sale to benefit the War Child projects in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

War Child’s mission is to protect children in dangerous war zones around the world. I mean, if you’ve got a problem with that cause, you may just be dead inside.

So, no buying a really fun zebra t-shirt does not even close fulfill my requirements for being a better person. But hey, it’s a start.

Fashion Is Fun

Notes from London & St. Trop: Foodie Edition

lilyallenkatemosslilagrace.jpgWhere have all the fashionably fabulous people gone? St. Tropez, that’s where. Kate, Lila Grace, Leo, editors, designers. They’re here on hols where I am also quite lucky to be with my family. Post-beach they can often be found having a nibble at the resto we tried last night. I highly recommend it.

We treated ourselves to La Petite Maison (actually an hour away in Nice), a famed restaurant where they take their food very seriously. Some may know it because Gwyneth Paltrow raves about it on GOOP. I called for reservations and was told “No madam, we are booked until the end of the month.” It would probably help greatly if I was a bold-face name. But instead, I simply used my old London trick: just show up. And voila — a table for five right there and then.

Was it worth it? Yes. Pretentious? A little. The waiter bragged about Elton coming there all the time, and we did spot a gaggle of famous people, most notably Leo DiCaprio and Cindy Crawford.

Meanwhile back in London…

Our Time in Edun

angelalindvallforeduntshirt.JPGAngela Lindvall has long been doing the green thing and the charity thing (with her Collage Foundation.)

Now she’s collaborating with Yoox.com and Bono and Ali Hewson’s Edun Live on a t-shirt that will be the first to launch a series called “ever.green”, featuring different eco-friendly tees designed by a variety of celebs.

Angela’s goes on sale on Monday and a percentage of the proceeds will go to Green Cross International (which we had no idea was founded by Mikhail Gorbachev!)

The model says of her design, “My shirt was created from the shadows of trees. Our shadow side is what sometimes pushes us to grow.”

And we’ll just leave it at that and let you ponder away.
