Streetwalker: Another Stylish Salesgirl

purple soled streetwalker.jpgAlison, 23, salesgirl

Got Her: Working at Amarcord Vintage (best store ever!) in Williamsburg.

Stalked Her: Well, actually, we were taking a shopping break…

Shot Her: It was the purple heels and the neon nails.

She Said: “I try to dress down so people pay more attention to the clothes in the store than to what I’m wearing. But I do love accessories! They’re an easy way to add spark to my outfits.”

We Say: Sparks are flying.

golden calf nothing more.jpgPop quiz:

What’s this?

We saw it while walking along North 6th and Wythe and thought, “Huh?”

But it turns out it’s just a vintage furniture store called Golden Calf.

Tickling, nonetheless.

Streetwalker: London Boy, Brooklyn Jacket

Streetwalker Chris.JPGChris, 22, Central St. Martin’s student, boy fashionista

Got Him: At the Topshop show.

Stalked Him: Can you think of a better way to meet cute boys in London than to tell them you like the way they dress and ask to take their picture?

Shot Him: Because he’s wearing that hat and doesn’t look cheesy. Also, he’s perfectly stylish - without trying an ounce too hard.

He Says: “The pin’s from a US Army Navy store. The shirt’s a Fred Perry gift, the shoes are well loved and the jacket’s from Beacon’s Closet.”

We Say: We flew seven hours to find another cute boy wearing Beacon’s Closet?!

Your Bag

“What’s in Your Bag?”: Star Quality

As suggested, for this week’s bag-seeking adventures, we hopped the L train to Williamsburg, Brooklyn: Home of the Hip(sters). There’s a not-so-scientific theory that “all the cute boys live in Brooklyn,” (Britt will concur) and while they were definitely out in full-force, they weren’t carrying any manbags, so I didn’t have a proper excuse to stop them (sad face).

But we did get a cute girl who’s playing a boy in an all-female cast of Julius Caesar, along with Zina Star - a rising star (that’s not just a pun, I really mean it) - and yes, that’s her birth name.

And just a side note: We did spot one PVC bag, but oddly enough… the owner wouldn’t let us go through it… even though we could see everything inside.

Irony at its best?

Streetwalker: A Lesson in Tailoring

streetwalker production assistant small.jpgDaphne, 23, Production Assistant

Got Her: Crossing the street between Spring and Mulberry

Stalked Her: Because the muted print caught our eye - it was subtle yet noticeable - and we have to say, it was the best fitting sundress we’ve seen in quite some time

Shot Her: Because the perfect fit of the dress and the funky pattern made this dress both vintage and chic all at once.

She Says: “I got the dress in Brooklyn at a cute store in Bushwick, it’s much cheaper than Williamsburg, it was only $40! It’s vintage but I had them take it in for me.”

We Say: Congratulations! You are a walking example of how a little cut and stitch can make an outfit.
