In other swimsuit news, Cintia Dicker made the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition, too. Yay..?
The new J.Crew catalog just arrived in our office, sandwiched in between invites and barely worth a second glance until we noticed they’d snagged Lauren Hutton for the cover.
They’ve been putting their own employees to modeling work on their website for the past couple of months and riding the gigantic wave of Obama publicity — apparently saving their pennies for Lauren who looks, well, kind of ravishing.
The model/actress is keeping up with the supers revival, this marks her third campaign alongside The Row and Mango - and J.Crew’s first use of a household name (unless you’re talking our household in which Anouck, Cintia and Stam definitely count).
Question is, do we want that trench because it’s perfect or do we want the trench because Lauren makes it look perfect?
Amazing beauty news via WWD:
Aveeno, perhaps the best skincare brand in your local Duane Reade (or anywhere, if you ask me), is branching out into hair care.
The Johnson & Johnson-owned brand will release their new shampoos and conditioners this April at a price point of $6.49, which is a very friendly price these days indeed.
Of course, they’ll also release a massive ad campaign of the TV, print and online trifecta, which means they’re probably casting the new girl right now.
So please, Johnson & Johnson, get Cintia on the phone. You know you want bright red hair for these commercials.
Fact: Fashionista hearts Cintia Dicker, the gorgeous flame-haired model at left.
Fact: So does Glamour, who’s given Cintia her own shoot in their February “Man Issue,” just a few months after her own spread in their October.
We have no idea why she’s such a good fit for an issue on men, but it hits newsstands January 6th, so we’ll all figure it out together on Tuesday.
Model resolution, 2009: More Cintia in more magazines - please!
Full spread, after the jump!
Fact: We love Cintia Dicker.
Fact: We love that she landed the Sephora holiday campaign, even if we’ve just realized it now.
Fact: We do not love that they’ve airbrushed her freckles off of her face. It’s like erasing Cindy’s mole or virtually eliminating Lara’s curves.
Fact: We know they’re trying to sell make-up, but there is such a thing as too much green eyeshadow and Sephora might’ve reached that point. Does this really make you want to go on a cosmetics spree?
Fact: She still looks gorgeous.
Marilyn Models Agency is looking for a few good interns that are “CRAZY ABOUT FASHION”, so:
If you want to work for a small team that still handles biggies like Caroline and Irina, help with computer work (knowledge of Photoshop/InDesign/Illustrator is a plus), scout new young girls on the street but still come into an office where you’re expected to scan tear sheets, e-mail justin[at]marilyn-ny.com.
Oh, and big plus if you happen to speak Russian or Portuguese or any other languages.
And bonus points if you pass along new girls’ comp cards - hah, kidding! (Not really.)
May the force be with you.
Fact: We love Cintia Dicker.
Fact: She’s our unofficial mascot.
Fact: We support her endlessly.
Fact: She’s now joined Chanel and Behati as PINK girl, already posing in her collegiate-appropriate heart tee on the VS site, following a very successful October. We’d also just like to point out how amazing it is that a 22-year old is modeling undies geared toward other 22-year olds.
Aww.
May we kindly request a CFDA spread in Vogue for her? Thanks.
Fashionista mascot, Cintia Dicker, has been everywhere lately.
First, we got word she was posing for Marie Claire, then that she would be smiling for Glamour.
And now? Faran spotted her on Target’s site over the weekend (she took screenshots - after the jump! - just for you), and well, we’re giddy with excitement that these are all just warm up steps to an upcoming Spring 09 campaign.
Gap, are you listening?

Hey!
This has nothing to do with Fashion Week, but thought you’d like to know anyway -
Cintia’s in the upcoming October issue of Marie Claire, in a spread featuring Fall countryside looks.
She looks gorgeous! Thought I’d give you a heads up since she’s your mascot.
xo
Update: Sorry! It is Marie Claire!

First, I saw Stam (!!!!!!) this afternoon at 12th and 3rd Ave with a boy on a bike, looking cute as a button as usual.
Ten minutes later, took the train to Soho and saw Erin Wasson on Broadway crossing over towards Opening Ceremony (just a few blocks from Alex Wang’s showroom).
An hour later, Cintia Dicker was in workout clothes with someone that appeared to be her boyfriend in my local Union Square Whole Foods. She was really sweet - I asked if I could take a picture of her and she said of course, but then the staff at Whole Foods started bitching as I took out my camera and said that I couldn’t take pictures there! Still, she might be the most gorgeous model in person I’ve ever seen.
I swear I didn’t schedule in all of this model-scouting; basically the best day ever, and I didn’t even have to run around any tents!

It’s no secret we think Cintia Dicker is one of the most gorgeous girls on earth. We’re bummed she doesn’t hit the runway as much anymore, and we’re still hoping she fills her dream of starring in an action movie - she told us last year she wants to be “just like Cameron Diaz in Charlie’s Angels.”
We think that could probably happen.
Meanwhile, she’s just booked her first Victoria’s Secret shoot, and we hear that she’ll also hit their runway in December, alongside Stam and the Spice Girls.
This news leaves us tongue tied, maybe for the first time ever.
After all, we are thrilled that Cintia’s booked a job where she’ll strut around in her underwear -
We just don’t know how to say it without sounding like Shane on The L Word…
Not that there’s anything wrong with that…
Think of your favorite model.
Now think of yourself.
Any similarities?
Faran has a theory that people like the models they like because they resemble them.
Some of her favorite models are Cintia Dicker and Lily Cole, who both have wavy/curly hair and round faces—like Faran.
This summer intern Sarah’s favorite model was Irina Lazareanu, with whom she shares her ’60s rocker style and dark blunt bangs.
Our favorite models tend to be other light-haired pale girls with prominent cheekbones (Lara Stone, Sasha Pivovarova).
And we’ve always thought it was funny that Natalia Vodianova got her solo Vogue cover after she cut her hair into an Anna Wintour style bob.
Maybe we like models that we can see as our ideal versions of ourselves;
Taller, with perfectly applied eyeliner, and killer clothes.
Maybe they’re the grown-up version of the American Girl dolls you can customize to look like you and dress in matching clothes (except in our case the models have the clothes first).
Do you share features with your favorite catwalker?

A running tally of our favorite Fashion Week sightings this morning / afternoon…
Jessica Stam chatting with Patrick Demarchelier backstage at BCBG today. All we could think of was “Miranda, I have Patrick!”
Cintia Dicker in the Abaete show.
“Noted fashion photographer” Nigel Barker at Toni Maticevski, “being whisked away by an entourage so quickly afterwards that you’d think he’s Tom Cruise or something.”
Orlando Pita running to a Preen hair and makeup test.
Ali Michaels insisting she was always made fun of for her eyebrows.
Our guilty Britney Snow (seriously, we could watch John Tucker Must Die on repeat…) leaving the Tents - “but I’m coming back for Erin Fetherston!”
Funny, we’re sprinting that way, too…
