If last year’s Met Ball is just a hazy memory, and you never bothered to check out DVF’s Wonder Woman line anyway, here’s another chance to get in on the never-dying comic trend:
Marvel, one of the biggest names behind comic books, is pushing further into the women’s fashion market with a full-on line of clothes, bags, accessories and makeup for 2009.
Obviously, we’re most interested in the makeup, and the fact that they definitely won’t advertise, even though we think Stam would make a great Sue Storm (left). Just imagine a pink lip balm called “Stam Bomb”. Oh yeah, we went there.
We brought you this information last week, a little too early, but it looks like the world is finally ready for it…
Back in May, Diane von Furstenberg announced she’d be designing a capsule holiday collection loosely based on Wonder Woman, a personal icon of hers.
But she didn’t mention, however, that she’d also be designing a limited-edition, collector’s comic book, called Be the Wonder Woman You Can Be, Featuring the Adventures of Diva, Viva & Fifa, in collaboration with DC comics, available on her site and in her stores starting next Wednesday, October 15th.
The comic tells the story of three different, empowered women - Diva, Viva and Fifa - and includes an intro by Gloria Steinem and a letter by Lynda Carter. Proceeds benefit Vital Voices, to empower emerging women leaders.

So here’s something weird:
Don’t ask me why, but I was in a comic book store yesterday, and randomly, I picked up something called Glamourpuss.
The cover read, “World Peace: Michael Kors Luggage Leads the Way!”
Inside? An article (is that what you call them when it’s in a comic book?) entitled “There’s Nothing Funny About Anti - Depressants” included the following: a hand-drawn depiction of Michael Kors’ Fall 07’ ads with Tanya D and a story including the quote, “Carla Bruni? Oh, please. Glamourpuss is sure she’s a very nice woman but hold up the best picture of her ever taken on her best day and put it next to the model in the Michael Kors ad and… come on, Dr. Norm, NO comparison.”
Naturally, we scanned.
Decipher!
