Girl Crush: We’ve had a major one on Kim Gordon since our days of reading Sassy. Time and this video have only made our hearts grow fonder. {Style}
Winner!: My soccer team won its championship game last week and I took home what I though was a pretty kick ass trophy for Brooklyn co-ed soccer. But it would not impress this art director. {TheMoment}
In Memoriam: Alexander McQueen’s sequined Isabella Blow dress is going for $1098 - it was originally $7390. {Gilt}
I Wanna Be a Supermodel: But I never will be. So if you think you can, you should probably apply to Elite Chicago’s online modeling competition. {Elite}
Catherine Malandrino Logs On: The designer and Make Me a Supermodel judge has a new website. It’s really colorful and pretty, just like her clothes. There’s a shopping section now, too. {CatherineMalandrino}

Anyone watching Model.Live knows that in the fashion industry, “you have to spend money to make money.”
But spend too much and you end up stuck in the recession glut - a prospect making some agencies cut back.
A model at Elite told us that her prestigious bookers just slashed 60 girls, the ones it didn’t think could recoup on their plane tickets / apartment fees / etc.
Still on their roster, of course, is Coco Rocha, along with Australian up-and-comers like Alice Burdeau, Emma Beam, and Stephanie Carta, and socialite It Girls such as Harley Viera Newton and Victoria Traina. Damaris Lewis, left, is also still on their boards.
But what about all the newly signed Top Model rejects like Anya and Katarjyna? They’re currently listed as “out of town.” If they’ll ever come back, guess we’ll see…
We hear from a model agent that Karlie Kloss is making the move from Elite to Next, effective pretty much immediately.
“They offered her family a lot of money to switch,” says the source, “And they couldn’t turn it down.”
Next represents some incredible talent (Petra Nemcova, Anja Rubik, Catherine McNeil, Joy Bryant), and adding Karlie to their stable will undoubtedly make their women’s board even stronger.
But Elite’s recently gained a reputation for nurturing new talent, with Coco Rocha skyrocketing from nowhere under the tutelage of her Elite managers, Ali Stephens booking the new Chloe campaign, and Darla Baker morphing into indie fashion’s go-to poster girl.
We love Next; we love Elite; we love Karlie; we can’t wait for Fashion Week.
But we’re also smitten with this extra bit of news:
Riley Keough, the granddaughter of Elvis Presley, former face of Dior, and now-legal bombshell, is at Elite’s New York agency… and what’s more, she’s in their show package.
Riley on the runways for Fashion Week?! It’s too good…
We hear from a source that although Saleisha has indeed signed her Elite contract and strolled through their New York office, she won’t be hitting the New York Fashion Week circuit - in fact, the agency won’t even be sending her on runway castings.
Also, although Elite models are routinely signed for three-year contracts, the binding papers for the Top Model winner may be a shorter one-year agreement.
So what will Saleisha be doing instead of fashion shows and castings?
“Press appointments and Cover Girl filming takes up the bulk of her first few months,” says the source, “And then it’s more likely she’ll go out for sportswear campaigns, like Jaslene Gonzales did last year.”
Meanwhile, Elite has another relative newbie who actually could be America’s next top model - their fifteen-year-old foundling, Karlie Kloss, is on the cover of Teen Vogue this month with Chanel Iman and Ali Michael.
