The opportunity to own vintage Givenchy, Audrey Hepburn’s vintage Givenchy, comes along once, maybe twice in a lifetime, including now. If you’ve got a miniature waist and a not-miniature wallet - to stock your closet with almost priceless wares.

On December 8th, thirty-six pieces of Audrey’s clothes, accessories and letters are going up for auction in London, including, according to The Independent two custom Givenchy dresses from Paris When it Sizzles and How to Steal a Million.

The dresses are expected to sell for at least £15,000 each (that’s about $25,150), pennies compared to her Breakfast at Tiffany’s dress which sold for $783,541.12 three years ago. This time around, all of the net-profits from the auction will be donated to All Children in School, a foundation supported by the Audrey Hepburn Children’s Fund that aims to educate 120 million children worldwide. So it’s a win-win: get Givenchy, give to charity.

What could be better?

The bleaching of models’ brows was all the rage for S/S 2010 (and actually was fairly popular the season before at Prada, Balenciaga, and Miu Miu). We’ve been fascinated as to how all the girls’ eyebrows didn’t fall out by the end of Paris Fashion Week.

Today, we went to a Cover Girl lunch with the amazing (and always fun) Pat McGrath and got some answers.

First of all, we had no idea that Pat has had a hair colorist on her team for years. While he does many other things as well, brows often fall to him. Very cool. And considering the lady does around 30 shows a season (not to mention countless editorials and covers), it makes a lot of sense to have everyone you may need at the ready.

She told us that she suggested to the models that they not go through the bleaching process more than twice. Instead, the makeup teams would just color in darker versions when necessary. “Of course some girls insisted on always changing back, but what are you gonna do?” said Pat. We’re sure those ladies are regretting those decisions right about now.

“Ernest is not someone I’m constantly thinking about. In fact, I might like his friend F. Scott Fitzgerald a little bit more.” - Dree Hemingway in the new V, and yet it wasn’t Dree Crisman who landed that Givenchy runway.

We’ve spotted it on Garance ‘s blog. It’s popped up on Tommy Ton’s Style slideshows, too. And on our own feet of course, in our dreams.

It’s in Aldo’s dreams, too. The only difference is they have a shoe factory and the ability to make it for insanely less money and sell it to the masses. Their copy has less studs, and a smaller t-strap. They’ve also named it some something decidedly French: Guerrette. Guerrette’s like the ugly step-sister; she can’t compare to her gorgeous older, more vibrant sister, and she never will.

It’s like Givenchy made the perfect heel and Aldo broke it. And they do say not to fix it if it’s not broke.

Dree Hemingway, former Abercrombie model and it-girl of a pretty long moment, will walk Calvin Klein next month.

The model, and literary heir, surfaced onto New York’s fashion scene about a year ago and while she made the show and party rounds last season, she walked exclusively for Ricardo Tisci at Givenchy in Paris.

We expect she’ll be at least a US exclusive for Calvin Klein and pop up in Paris, if not London, too.

And in other model news, Alana Zimmer’s gone and chopped off all her hair.

I’ve been taking a Photoshop class for the past three days (so as to suck less at graphics and actually be able to create some for the site!) and I had to walk past the Hollister shop on my way to and from the building every day.

And let me just say that yesterday’s quote of the day (aside from being totally genius) means so much more to me now. Wow, are those fumes strong. They just hang in the air as you turn the corner. Ick.

But they did get me thinking about smells that I do enjoy, like Saffron James Punono. Saffron James is a boutique fragrance company created by former beauty editor (and Hawaii native) Kate Growney. There are four scents in the collection that come in some incredibly beautiful packaging. And each one reflects a different aspect of Hawaiian foliage and culture. They’re all really complex and well-crafted, but Punono is hands-down my favorite.

Agreed, Garance: I feel the pretty much the same way about tattoos. I still want one but just can’t decide what to get. Though I’m also forever grateful I never did anything ridiculously embarrassing as a teen during the 90s. Plus, this girl’s tat is way cool. {Garance}

Rain, Rain: Style.com found some fancy people who refuse to cave in to the wettest summer in the history of mankind (okay, but it feels like it) and still wear Givenchy wedges and Jane Mayle platforms. They’re fun to look at, but we’ve given up. {Style}

Mr. Timberlake will be gracing our magazines come September in the ad campaigns for not one, but two Givenchy men’s fragrances: Play and Play Intense.

The suits at LVMH told WWD that they were looking for a new face for fragrance that would be recognized around the world.

“Most importantly, we needed to find a man who could embody the modern elegance specific to the Givenchy brand as well as all the facets of Play,” said Pamela Baxter, president and chief executive officer of LVMH Perfumes & Cosmetics N.A..

“Remember when I said Joe Biden was ushering in Middle East chic? Well, I think Riccardo Tisci was listening. Glitter, burkhas and ball gowns” -Derek Blasberg tweeting from the Givenchy couture show. Stripped down at Dior, covered up at Givenchy? Interesting.

I had a folder in elementary school with this picture of Michael Jackson on the front. It actually had a cardboard record coming out of the top like a real album cover…and it was my most prized possession.

Of course, I was as obsessed with his music as any girl in the 80s, but I was also incredibly infatuated with the look—the vest, the yellow, the bow tie. And to be frank, I was completely in love with Michael Jackson.

I could go on for a million years about the moments and the memories that his music brings to mind. I will never forget sitting in the family room with my mom and dad, watching the “Thriller” premiere. For any of you too young to remember, this was a serious national event. When MJ’s hair caught on fire on the set of that Pepsi commercial…major disaster! And don’t even get me started on all things related to “Man in the Mirror”.

But I’m only half way through my coffee and three hours deep into a move from Brooklyn into Manhattan and I could be wrong. So we’ll start with a yes.

Is she even allowed to model other lingerie? For a department store? Even if she’s best friends with Elle MacPherson and actually only wears her bras in real life because they’re a million times better than Victoria’s Secret? VS has pretty iron clad contracts for their girls. Want to walk Givenchy? Fine. Want to model in another catalog? Absolutely not.

And if it’s not her, way to go Bloomingdale’s for finding the only other human being in the world who looks like that.

Meanwhile this looks just like Cat McNeil, but it’s not, is it? The url even reads, “PseudoCat.” I might need another cup of coffee.

And bloggers take one more step up the fashion food chain.

Holt Renfrew, the Canadian department store, will pay tribute to a handful of fashion’s most famous online personalities including The Sartorialist’s Scott Schuman, BryanBoy and Jak & Jil’s Tommy Ton in their new window displays.

Creative director John Gerhardt’s orchestrated the entire thing without any input from the bloggers themselves - just inspiration from their sites and their voice. So we’re guessing layered prep a la Band of Outsiders with a bright scarf for Scott (and a bike of course), an explosion of Balmain and Givenchy for Tommy and just something major for BryanBoy.

We can’t wait to see the windows come Friday (because someone will send us pictures, right?) and we probably would buy anything straight out of one of Scott or Tommy’s gorgeous images, but we can’t help but wish Gerhardt had actually enlisted the bloggers’ help with the project.

We’re always excited when the latest Naomi Campbell gossip isn’t lawsuit-related, so it was great to hear that Karl’s shooting her in Moscow for a V Magazine spread. We love that two of our favorite icons are teaming up in the city that Karl paid homage to with his pre-fall collection in December. But actually, this was Karl’s first time in the city.

Makes us wonder: is it too presumptuous for a designer to base a collection on a place he has never visited? John Galliano is known for making extensive visits to Egypt or Japan to immerse himself in the culture before he goes to the drawing board.

Well, Karl did it, and he told WWD, “I like imagination and the way I think things could be, had been or should be — better than reality. You’re never disappointed by your imagination, but you can be very disappointed by reality.”

Reality has been coming up an awful lot in fashion. We raised our eyebrows when Riccardo Tisci said he was aiming for reality with the new Givenchy ads. Karl’s going in the opposite direction: even a real place has been imagined, for him.

So our final take on Karl and Naomi’s Moscow? It’s exactly the sort of fashion fantasy that we’d like to escape to.

It’s official!

Victoria’s Secret and Givenchy model Adriana Lima is pregnant with her first child with new husband (and NBA player) Marko Jaric.

Pregnancy rumors have been swirling as of late about Adriana and that other newlywed supermodel/superstar athlete couple.

Adriana’s rep tells People that she’s due this winter and that, of course, the pair is very excited.

We can’t wait to see this newest member of the world of the tall and ridiculously good-looking.
