If the Olsens ever tire of wearing their own new sunglasses, we’re pretty sure they will love the ones soon to be available from Hogan, who are licensing eyewear for the first time.
Many of the women’s styles are oversized and retro and ever-so celebrity-friendly. The men’s put yet another spin on the aviator, which we’re not sure the world needs, but oh well.
I actually am surprised that Hogan hasn’t done glasses before now. They are all about the accessories after all. The line will range from $285-$375 and you can start getting your hands on them starting Monday.
Elettra Wiedemann’s landed a new campaign for fall.
Isabella Rossellini’s daughter has posed for Abercrombie & Fitch, Bill Blass, Samsonite, Lancôme, Hogan and now, adding to what might be the most scattered modeling portfolio ever, she’s the face of G-Star Raw’s AW09 collection.
She’ll star in their print ads through December; they chose her since she represents “hardcore luxury.” And to strengthen their rock n’ roll vision, the denim brand’s enlisted photographer Anton Corbijn who also directed Control, the Joy Division biopic starring Sam Riley who went on to front Burberry with Rosie Huntington-Whitley.
Now we wonder if Elettra will walk G-Star’s runway at Hammerstein Ballroom on September 15th. She might be a constant Fashion Week presence, but we’ve never seen her tackle a runway.

We produce models as fast as we can, given the fact that you guys steal them away within months.`
We’ve recently lost Agyness, Daisy, Alexa and Karen, so thank goodness our model machine keeps churning out new faces.
Meet Amber Le Bon, daughter of Yasmin and Duran Duran’s Simon LeBon. The combination of her mum’s legs and her dad’s rock star appeal is thoroughly British. And she’s still too young to leave us. It’s no wonder she’s just signed contracts with high street store River Island and Myla, the lingerie brand whose recent ads starred your Lydia Hearst.
Thanks in no small part to her mum’s enviable Alaia collection, she stood out at last night’s Hogan party, even while surrounded by the likes of Beth Ditto, Giles Deacon, Savannah Miller, Lily Cole and Katie Grand.

We discussed the fate of Hogan earlier in the week when Tod’s S.P.A. announced they were closing their downtown store and moving uptown.
Their downtown image, one cultivated through ads starring Leigh Lezark and Elettra Weidemann, wasn’t quite working - so above 14th Street they went.
And of course we wondered who’d star in their new uptown ads. Someone said they’d tell us but they’d have to kill us, but then someone else told us. Hogan’s Fall 09 ads will allegedly star: Paz de la Huerta, Annabelle Dexter Jones, Rachel Chandler, Sam Hayes and Nate Lowman. Also, someone named Theo, we’re thinking Richards, and a Josephine.
Now we’re lost because it doesn’t really get more downtown than Mary-Kate Olsen’s artist boyfriend and the Ronsons’ baby-sister - unless this person’s constructed a super elaborate list to throw us off.
But, no, it is real and Hogan is confused.
Hogan, Tod’s cooler, younger sister, is closing its downtown New York store in June.
The lifestyle brand says it wants to move uptown and the current economic climate has finally given them access to the kind of space they need.
A spokesperson told WWD that Hogan’s the largest growing brand within the Tod’s family and that they need to move uptown to launch their new retail concept and solidify their customer base.
What it doesn’t say is that the line was supposed to be downtown’s answer to Tod’s, that making Leigh Lezark and Elettra Wiedemann the face of the brand was a very calculated move to attract a customer whose eye is more focused on the Phillip Lims of the world and that it’s not quite working so they’re heading uptown where people actually wear Tod’s loafers and actually look like Gwyneth Paltrow.
So our question is, who gets to star in the new ads?
