Mid-Day Snack

natasha polys her own muse.jpgSneak A Peek: Here’s a sneak preview of the Natasha Poly-centric Muse, hitting New York’s news stands on September 10th. It features Craig McDean, Riccardo Tisci, Jeff Koons and Terry Richardson. If ever there was a time to try to replicate those lips, it’s tonight’s Paper party. {Models}

Jeepers Creepers: Yes, all fashion girls swoon for Yigal Azrouel. He’s gorgeous, makes brilliant clothes and is the only straight man for miles. But this woman, who told the Post she likes to try on clothes in his store just to be naked in the same room as him, is far too enthusiastic about the whole thing. {NYPost}

PughHoo!: Gareth’s coming to New York. The Brit will show his full collection in Paris - no word yet on whether he’s reverting back to runways or sticking to last season’s video format - but before that he’ll swing by Milk Studios and offer a peek of his SS10 collection this Saturday night. {Style}

Helena Christensen's Pretty Pictures

helena picture 1 copy.jpgLast night, I stopped by Helena Christensen’s photography exhibition, Far From, Close.

The launch, at Dactyl Foundation featured an incredibly eclectic group of people waiting in a ten minute line for Trader Joe’s wine.

Behati Prinsloo, wearing the same Hayden-Harnett cuff I treasure, waited in line while her boyfriend/jewelry designer Jamie Strachan huddled with Helena - in black feathers - and Jeff Koons.

Michael Stipe held court in the center of the room while Ally Hilfiger, looking more hipster than Hilfiger in buffalo plaid and motorcycle boots, ran around snapping pictures of everyone, including our own Jeremy (more from him later).

Kelly Cutrone slinked through the crowd in head to toe leather pouring Pellegrino and checking on Helena while Rachel Feinstein, not wearing a stitch of Marc, admired the proof sized prints in the entry way.

Looked like a fashion party, sounded like a fashion party - can you spot the recession friendly change?

Streetwalker: First Day of Fall Mascot

Louise at Versailles.JPGLouise, 22, Student

Got Her: At Versailles

Stalked Her: Because she looked very studious taking notes in the courtyard and very Fall.

Shot Her: Because the proportion of her jacket to her skirt worked, surprisingly. We love her glasses and that the only pop of color comes from her hair.

She Says: “I’m an art student. I study in Paris and we’re here to see the Jeff Koons exhibit for school. And who doesn’t love Versailles?”

We Say:You study Koons, we’ll study you.

*ed note. If you happen to be in Paris right now, there’s a Jeff Koons exhibit throughout Versailles until December. It’s only the second time the French government has allowed a contemporary artist to show in the palace and though semi-irreverent, (we heard lots of visitors complaining), it brings an entirely new dimension to the experience and we’d highly recommend catching it while you can.

Fashion Is Fun

It’s Like Google, But With a Better Outfit

oscarbanner.jpgLaura from Men’s Health just alerted us to the coolest thing to happen to Google since G-chat.

You can personalize your homepage even more - and that doesn’t just mean choosing where your icons go - it means picking an entire designer or artist theme.

Options include fashion darling and artist Jeff Koons, Coldplay, glass-blower extraordinare Dale Chihuly, Dolce & Gabbana, Oscar De La Renta and signature Diane Von Furstenberg prints including the one from that dress we’re still obsessed with.

So now you have something to play with until lunch.

Enjoy!

Stella for LeSportsac

stella bunny pack.jpgWe’ve never been huge fans of LeSportsac. We’re a little too girly and we never really understood the price point.

But we previewed their new line by Stella McCartney, master of mass-market collaborations, and it’s surprisingly cute.

The color palette is pure Stella; deep purples matched with dusty rose and silver hardware. For a minute we thought we’d accidently stumbled into her Adidas showroom, but the bags manage to be both sporty and practical without actually reaching “athletic”. The shapes are traditional LeSportsac, from toiletry cases to full blown luggage.

But the real reason we’re into the line? The rabbit backpack. It’s the same shape as the Jeff Koons jewelry with which Stella accessorized her Spring ‘06 collection, and the playful pattern is going to match perfectly with our own bright and solid color plans for spring. The bag was initially designed for kids, but Stella smartly decided to include it in the main collection.

We’ll be doing the same.
