Belgian designer Dirk Bikkemberg may have sold tickets to his Milan runway show for $16 a seat, but the Justin Timberlake-backed denim brand William Rast is one-upping him with a deal on flash sale site HauteLook.
For the next 24 hours, fans of the label can purchase a $1,500 package that includes a seat at the 7pm show in New York on February 17 and a ticket to the after party.
No, the price doesn’t include airfare or hotel accommodation. But if the front row is anything like it was last year—Carine, Anna, Biel and yes, ‘N Sync-er JC Chasez all graced the audience with their presence—it might be worthwhile for some hardcore fans.
And if you’re strapped for cash, you can enter to win two tickets on HauteLook’s Facebook page.
Last week, it was Michael Bastian’s lacrosse-inspired collection for Gant, as well as the opening of yet another old-timey barber shop in Brooklyn.
Then Jessica Biel popped up on the cover of Vogue, looking fresh faced and yes, All American, in a denim vest and blazer.
Which got us thinking…when is this Americana bubble going to pop already?
If the typical lifespan of a trend is three years, is the latest era of head-to-toe denim, speakeasy-inspired cocktails, ironic mustaches and Filson satchels nearly through?
I like Americana for a number of reasons, especially the history behind it, but the immutable law of fashion cycles tell us this fad’s number will be up soon. And that demise will impact a number of industries, including fashion, retail, dining, and drink.

Fresh Faced: Jessica Biel’s on the cover of Vogue’s February issue (for Valentine’s Day? Really?). We can’t wait to read “The Tale of an Almost Adultress.” Sounds almost interesting…{BryanBoy}
Ford’s Crush: A Single Man star Nicholas Hoult’s in Tom Ford’s spring 2010 eyewear campaign with a very naked Carolyn Murphy. {Fashionologie}
Talk of the Town: Jean-Paul Gaultier’s Target lookbook leaked today. It looked better in yesterday’s blurry Elle editorial. {Refinery29}
Diet Talk: Speaking of hot male fashion designers, Yigal Azrouël kept a journal of his eating habits for New York Magazine’s food blog. He cooks Moroccan food for six, makes omelets and English muffins in the morning, and whips up papaya smoothies on demand. {Vulture}
Loved: Giles presented his pre-fall collection in Florence yesterday underneath paper clip hats and above crunched plates. We’re thrilled colored hair isn’t going anywhere. {LOVE}
Revlon just named Jessica Biel their newest brand ambassador.
She joins a long list, including Jennifer Connelly, Elle MacPherson and Halle Berry and will eventually be shot for an international campaign and participate in all of Revlon’s charitable causes.
Initial thought? How does one land such a massive beauty contract when one does nothing but date an insanely successful guy? But WWD anticipated that question and explained that the actress does in fact have a few major movies coming out, one with Jake Gyllenhaal and another with Colin Firth.
And of course she’s busy playing “muse” to Justin Timberlake and Trace Ayala. She’ll wear a custom William Rast gown to tonight’s ball - with Revlon lipstick?
When we heard Jessica Biel was planning on designing a line of handbags for William Rast, not only were we annoyed, but we were confused.
It turns out our feelings of unease were founded -
According to People, rumors of Jessica designing were just that: rumors.
So rest easy. That is, until the next announcement from Hilary Duff / Miley Cyrus / whoever.
We know that just about every celebrity under the sun has started ‘designing’ their own fashion line, but this one really threw us for a loop - Jessica Biel is set to design a collection of handbags for Justin Timberlake’s line, William Rast.
Sure, Jess always looks pretty, but we were under the impression that her knowledge of fashion didn’t go past her True Religion jeans and Juicy Couture sweaters. She doesn’t turn up at the requisite star-studded fashion shows, nor is she particularly known for her style - we always thought that her casual look was decidedly un-fashion.
So why the foray into one of fashion’s most coveted accessories?
Apparently, if you’re a celebrity these days, anything is possible. Oh, and it probably doesn’t hurt that her boyfriend owns the line either.
