Remember when Kate Bosworth wore those red Chloé ankle boots? We couldn’t stop staring at her feet, and then couldn’t stop thinking about them for weeks.
Someone over at Free People has them on their mind also, where a reader spotted this Chloé clone.
Free People’s version is about a thousand dollars cheaper than Chloé’s, and while some will always claim that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, this new boot is just a cheap looking version of the original. Of course, we don’t expect them to be able to recreate that same spunk, but even if they did, it still wouldn’t be right.

Oh no.
When designers and their commercially successful brands started heading back to London Fashion Week in honor of the British Fashion Council’s 25th Anniversary, our first concern was the probable influx of international editors — the stuffy kind who usually skip London because it’s way too fun and way too crazy.
But now Grazia’s given us a whole other reason to whine. They’re reporting a “planned mass showbiz exodus” to Topshop Unique’s front row. And the word “mass” isn’t being used lightly, rumored so far are Blake Lively, Taylor Momsen, Olivia Palermo, Anne Hathaway, the Olsens, Whitney Port, Kate Bosworth and Lourdes Ciccone.

Hairstylist Lea Journo’s salon inside the Beverly Wilshire (yes, that would be the Reg Bev Wil) looks way groovier than you would expect for the old school ritzy hotel.
I first met Lea when I was writing a story about her for the now (sadly!) defunct Vitals and I instantly adored her. She’s Parisian and fabulous, not to mention incredibly talented.
She cut my hair during my LA years and I definitely miss her cuts and our chats.

Exposed zippers are everywhere. Adorning everything from leggings to shoes, to the 3.1 Philip Lim dress Kate Bosworth rocked way back in December.
And now we’ve found what Abby deemed the “ultimate exposed zipper” in this amazing bangle from Nasty Gal.
It’s simple, and serves up the perfect amount of rock and roll. It’s chunky, but the cool design of the zipper’s teeth keep it from being too heavy-looking.
We are addicted to layering bracelets, and at only $12 it is certain that this baby will be dangling from our arms in no time.

‘Tis the season of the outdoor music festival, which tends to bring about some very cool, and also some very bizarre fashion choices.
Gwyneth, the Kates (Moss and Bosworth), and Sienna have all perfected fashionably bohemian rock festival garb over the years, throwing in a pair of wellies when the weather demands, or wearing the tiniest of dresses while grooving in the desert at Coachella. Drew Barrymore, on the other hand, we’re less sure about.
Now we usually love Drew and all her fairy dust sensibilities. We’ve even lately embraced some of her colorful beauty choices. This one from Bonnaroo over the weekend (while enjoying a little Bon Iver) is not one of them.
She looks like she just finished playing dress-up with a group of five year-olds. And while we love embracing our childlike innocence as much as the next girl, this just seems to be taking it a bit too far. Really, a feather? Though we will give her credit for picking a rather lovely palette of glittery face paint to work with.
We set out to find the perfect etched mirror for our new apartment this weekend, but ended up trying on the new Rag & Bone collection instead.
Their tailored white tuxedo vest, with ivory trim and a halter neck, was a painfully tempting purchase.
The salesperson pointed out that it’s the one Kate Bosworth wears in this month’s Vogue - then he claimed it looks better without a shirt underneath.
“It’s so hot!” he squealed.
We sent a skinny friend into the dressing room even though we were sure it’d look awful, but he was right, it actually looked kind of “hot.”
Kate Hudson might be the only one who can pull off the look with ripped low-rise jeans, and even she’s a stretch. But maybe it could work with something high waisted, or looser fitting?
There’s a part of us that knows this look really depends on the girl rocking it, and that at the end of the day, there’s something, well, cheap about it. But then again, we tend to always associate traditionally “hot” with cheap anyway.
Would you wear just a vest on top? Or is this trend pushing sexy menswear too far?
We’ve always thought well of Amanda Bynes, especially after her teen hits What a Girl Wants and She’s The Man. Anyone who can dress up in drag and get Colin Firth to sing the BeeGees is obviously awesome.
But lately we haven’t been loving the actress, because of her coldly calculated moves on the red carpet. It’s as if her publicist and manager said, “Okay darling, if you want more parts, you’ll have to get sexy,” and boom. Plunging dresses. Too much makeup. White-blonde streaks.
And of course the piece de resistance - an eponymous clothing line, thanks to Steve + Barry’s.
The whole thing seems so forced that it bums us out - Amanda’s so talented and sweet. Does she really need fashion to keep her career?
Well, maybe.
With so many starlets cramming for parts, studios want girls who are constantly “out there,” ensuring bigger box office appeal. When Scarlett poses for Louis Vuitton, she’s reminding every Vogue reader to see her movie. When Sienna has a Twenty8Twelve party, she’s also smiling for her latest movie. And Kate Bosworth’s billboards for Tod’s and Coach and Revlon enforce her presence onscreen.
In fact, when we scoured our minds for really good starlets without a solid fashion job, we only found two:
Natalie Portman, who seems weirdly resistant to makeup commercials and designer partnerships… and Anne Hathaway, who’s managed to avoid signing herself to one fashion house.
Though we have heard rumblings of a Valentino deal…
