It feels like everyone in New York is doing something for Fashion’s Night Out which means our inbox is flooded and the only way to easily distinguish between actual fashion week invites and Fashion’s Night Out press releases is to hit delete.
But we hesitated over Longchamp’s hoping, thinking maybe for a second that Kate Moss would be in town to host their September 10th bash.
She’s not, but Lily Cole is.
Their new fall collection’s called Gatsby and Michael Arenella & his Dreamland Orchestra will play a jazz set in honor of the theme before Lykke Li DJs the rest of the night.
How we’ll work this in between everything else, we’re not sure. But we’ll layout our divide and conquer plans on the 9th.
I can never have too many Longchamp bags. They truly are a little slice of chic perfection and utterly useful.
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of ANDAM (Association Nationale pour le
Développement des Arts de la Mode) - whose focus is to recognize and support emerging French fashion talent - the label collaborated with three past winners on limited edition Le Pliage bags: Jeremy Scott, Charles Anastase, and Bless designers Desiree Heiss and Ines Kaag.
Our favorite has to be the Bless innovation wherein the bag can literally be folded into itself becoming a leather bracelet. That is some serious fashion meets function action. The sweetness of Anastase’s ballet slippers illustration is rather lovely too. And of course, Jeremy went all sorts of loud, fashioning himself as a “nouveau samurai”.
Like I said, there is no such a thing as too many, so we’ll probably just snag all three when they go on sale October 1st.

TopShop isn’t the only place where Kate Moss designs.
The supermodel and wannabe super mogul also put her stamp on the Longchamp Legend Bag, which launches in its second incarnation this February.
The Legend Bag has a boxy fit and a red interior hand-picked by Kate, who models a shiny scarlet version in their upcoming ad campaign.
But it looks like the bag isn’t the only thing Kate’s inspired:
Check out her outfit in the ad, including a pair of black PVC leggings that look identical to the ones she wore at this summer’s Glastonbury Festival, where she sang with Pete Doherty just before their big and rather blustery breakup in the Fall.
The big difference, of course, is that this pair isn’t spattered in drippy, trippy mud.
