Random Pairings

hurleychristie1.jpgI have to say I don’t read Vogue Deutsch monthly. And by read, I mean look at the photos because my foreign language skills are embarrassingly non-existent. But now I’m kind of thinking I may need to start, if only to see the weird, random casting decisions they make for shoots.

This month brings you Lost’s Hurley (Jorge Garcia) and Christie Brinkley, shot by Bruce Weber in Montauk.

Also spotted: tortilla chips, fried chicken, and a Pilates machine. Oh, and some oddly loving glances between two people we never thought we’d see in a picture together. (Not to imply anything at all, it’s really just odd.)

See for yourself after the jump.

This Motherchucking Rocks

three boys one drunk one hot .jpgFashion Indie heard our pleas!

Remember how we begged New York bars to play Gossip Girl on their big screen TV a la Lost at Professor Thom’s?

Well, this is even better.

Now every Monday night, starting September 1, is Gossip Girl night at the Upper East Side’s Pop Lounge. The show will, of course, play in the background, while Fashion Indie hosts the various guests.

There’ll also be drinks, food, and a different designer who’s been featured on the show each week. And if we’re super lucky, maybe even a Chuck Bass look-a-like.

But please, leave your bows and headbands at home. Even we’re over it.

An Open Letter Re: Gossip Girl

chuck.jpgDear New York City Bars,

Why don’t you show Gossip Girl on your screens?

I spent yesterday evening happily watching Lost in a silent bar full of revelers swigging their free shots every time someone suggested Jack might die - imagine the possibilities with GG.

Free shots each time Dan caresses Serena’s face? Or, every time Blair and Chuck exchange death stares? How about every time a bow appears?

See, I don’t have a TV, and it’s absolutely impossible to leave my house on a Tuesday morning and not know every detail of the previous night’s episode before 11 am. Forget the plot, I’m talking about the color of Chuck’s socks, the length of Serena’s hair, the brightness of Jenny’s shoes - people want to tell me everything.

Not to mention, it’s already been widely discussed that a lot of GG’s viewers used to catch the show online - but now they’re not allowing that, so what are we supposed to do? Wait til Saturday, when we can already recite the plot by heart thanks to our annoying friends on AIM? I don’t think so.

In fact, Beauty Bar, if you’re listening, this would be perfect for you.

Thanks,

Fashionista
