Oprah’s been on a bit of a fashion kick lately with Christian Siriano last week and two of our favorites Joe Zee and Mary Alice Stephenson yesterday (along with O: The Oprah Magazine’s Adam Glassman.)
Unfortunately there’s no video up yet but you can follow along with their shoe and bag interventions. And, wow, did they have their work cut out for them. Because let’s face it, there are some really, really bad shoes out there. And I’m a huge sports fan, but the Cubs purse? Oy.
Oprah can be a bit (well, a lot) grating at times with all the self-aggrandizing, but anything she can do to make bad accessories go away, we’re behind. And she picked a good team to help her do it. Honestly, if it’s half as successful as what she did for the book industry, really we all win.

Today’s WWD reports that Hedi Slimane will shoot Pete Doherty along with his Babyshambles bandmates, for the cover of Spin Magazine.
Could Spin’s Creative Consultant, celebrity stylist Mary Alice Stephenson, have had something to do with the cover choice?
In other magazine news, we hear that Paper is shooting Lindsay Lohan for their cover this weekend.
We don’t know how we would dress her in light of recent news - maybe something pretty, like the new Stella McCartney florals?
We’re betting it doesn’t matter - this might be one of those times when the interview matters way more than the spread - we just think we’d be sure to steer clear of leggings…
Two nights ago, we had dinner with stylist Mary Alice Stephenson, who’s so cool she leaves even Rooney records in her wake.
Mary Alice revealed America’s Most Smartest Model is a bit of a runaway hit at VH1, and she’ll probably be back for a second season of hosting.
And then Mary Alice revealed her dinner date, a 19-year-old model named Mallory June, who was being dressed by J. Mendel.
“I’m from California… and Holland,” explained Mallory, “And I’ve only been modeling for a little while, but I’m really more interested in acting… I just booked this show called Blue Blood that Brett Ratner’s producing. We’re filming in the Hamptons, although I really haven’t seen much of the script. I know it’s a crime drama!”
Mallory’s with IMG, the mega-agency who helped their first model-actress-whatever, Mischa Barton, score her career-making part on The O.C. Let’s hope the same happens here - can’t you just see Mallory on the cover of Teen Vogue?
