Nicole Trunfio to the Tube

nicole trunfio at tuleh fall 06.jpgDuring the last couple Fashion Weeks, you were like to spot either Tyson Beckford or Niki Taylor with a camera crew in tow, since they were filming Bravo’s Make Me a Supermodel.

Now, you can add Nicole Trunfio to that list, since she’s just been brought on by the show as “a mentor to the female models.” The Bravo press release also says you can count Catherine Malandrino in as a judge, whom you might remember from an earlier episode of Project Runway.

We’re a little surprised Nicole took this gig - We wouldn’t have pegged the skateboarder and summer housemate of Gemma Ward as the reality TV type, but hey, does anyone on television surprise you anymore?

Models Rule, Messengers Drool

styles video of nicole trunfio screenshot.jpgThink models can’t be athletic?

Think you can’t potentially kick the ass of that bike messenger who’s always locking up your work elevator, and never even coming close to saying sorry for it?

Think again. Style.com pit Nicole Trunfio, armed with her skateboard, against an NYC bike messenger in the first of a new series that throws models and “real professionals” into weird races with each other to figure out… well, nothing, but it’s fun to see the models work so hard.

You’ll never guess who wins.

Guess? Who’s Going to Rehab

Nicole T_Guess.jpgThe new Guess? ads are out, and they’re great, but a little bit sad.

After all, if Amy Winehouse were healthy, she’d look exactly like this picture of a sultry beehived babe, as embodied by Aussie model Nicole Trufino.

It’s clear Guess? is taking a page from Karl Lagerfeld’s latest Cruise collection, which was based entirely on Ms. Amy and featured Coco Rocha wearing yesterday’s eyeliner and hair more teased than a nerd in eighth grade.

We like the direction where Guess? is going, straddling their pinup girl heritage with something more music-infused and borrowed by high fashion.

Maybe for Fall, they’ll make it look like Duffy?
