Fashion News Roundup: Emily Blunt Wears Mark Fast, Donatella Talks Models & Marc Smells Good

emily blunt mark fast la times.jpgAll Hail Fast: The more Mark Fast, the better. Emily Blunt looks incredible in the cream feathered mini, and she sounds just as perfect in this interview. {LATimes}

Most Coveted: Great, now we can’t stop thinking about a YSL bag that doesn’t even really exist yet. “Chyc” might be the worst name, but the shape and the color more than make up for it. {StyleFile}

The Juicy Bits: Donatella Versace talks models and ego. She wishes today’s girls had more personality and looked less natural. We wish they had Cindy’s hair. {Independent}

So Fresh & So Clean: Marc Jacobs has made an air freshener. It’s a daisy chain, that smells like Marc’s daisy fragrance, and you can buy it at Sephora. {Nylon}

Fashion News Roundup: Ugly Shoes, Beckham Island & Chanel’s Couture

christian siriano for payless.jpgClaw Money: If you can’t make Christina Hendricks look fantastic, you probably shouldn’t attempt to knock off McQueen and Nicholas Kirkwood in one shoe, or else you’ll end up with this disastrous looking creation. {Racked}

Welcome to Beckham Island: Rumor has it that Victoria Beckham’s designing a hotel on the island Karl Lagerfeld’s developing in Dubai. Sounds fierce and major. {Vogue UK}

Quote of the Day

“The last few years I’ve done hardly any modeling; when it’s with a brilliant photographer, or to support this film, for example, or it’s very interesting, then I’ll do it here and there. But for the most part, I’ve really enjoyed the process of acting, and I’d be more inclined to dedicate my time to that.”—Lily Cole, a model’s whose acting career actually sounds kinda promising, to NYLON.

abbey lee muse greg kadel.jpgAbbey Road: We were already obsessed with this Greg Kadel shoot from the behind-the-scenes video. The pictures are even better than we imagined. Most of them are topless, just so you know. {Fashion Gone Rogue.}

Ad it Up: Jenny Humphrey might have just landed herself a major campaign. It’s no Eleanor Waldorf, but we’re sure it made her IMG agents very happy this holiday season. No word yet on whether ripped tights are involved in the styling. {Nylon}

This and That: As if you needed a reminder, but Rodarte for Target launches on the 20th. VF paired up some collection Rodarte against the lookbook so that people can understand what’s going on, kind of. {Vanity Fair}

In Stam’s Stam: Seeing as models get access to just about every product on the planet, we really never tire of seeing what they actually choose to carry around The girl’s got a very nice little mix going on, we’d recommend paying attention to her picks. {Style}

Cat Holstein For Evisu

catherine holstein for evisu.jpgAt last night’s holiday party for Evisu, the walls were covered in sketches - for women’s clothes.

Scott Morrison’s finally embracing the girls in his life, he’s hired one of our favorite designers, Catherine Holstein, to develop a whole line of women’s clothes.

Last night was the first we’d heard of the collaboration - though we just notice it tucked into a Nylon item in this month’s Hilary Duff-covered issue this morning - and we can’t wait to see the sketches realized for spring.

Aside from jeans, we’re hoping Cat’s girli-ness filters down to an everyday price point. And if she could throw in some of those slouchy sweater hats from two seasons ago, that’d be swell.

thomaspinkcollarbones.jpg‘Tis the Season: I can’t say that I miss putting together gift guides like I used to do in my magazine days. They’re a serious undertaking to organize and shoot. But I still love looking at well-edited ones like this. I mean, rainbow Thomas Pink collar bones—what’s not to love. {The Moment}

Gems from Zahm: Any headline that reads “Sex is life. Professional pornography is just capitalism” is automatically going to draw us in—especially when it comes from the mouth of Purple’s Olivier Zahm. {Gawker}

Belle of the Ball: After a few quick pics the other day, Jane Aldridge has put up a bunch more from her trip to Paris for the Crillon Ball. Doesn’t it look like this may be the happiest day in her mother’s life, wedding and childbirth included? {Sea of Shoes}

Rumors Prove True: And no we’re not talking about Tiger Woods, though we are fairly obsessed with the whole scandale. Nope, it’s the Target and Liberty ones. The pairing is real and official and coming in March. {Vogue UK}

Oscar & Valentino: The designer’s doc is on the short-list for an Oscar nom. Sadly, The September Issue is not. But we’re still pulling for a fashion victory. Also, we couldn’t be more excited for Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin to host. {Vogue UK}

Thigh High: The kids over at Nylon sound like they had a grand old time recreating Miuccia’s super festive socks and they’re letting us in on the scheme. Just in time for party season. Hooray! {Nylon}

Two All Beef Patties, Special Sauce, Etc: Yesterday it was moustache tees. And today brings a shirt featuring another one of our favorite things, Big Macs. Thanks Traver Rains! {Nylon}

Product Overload: We’re so pumped to see Nine , unattractive Vogue cover notwithstanding. The ladies look so gorgeous in the trailer but we had no idea there was that much product on set. But when Rob Marshall says it’s “all about the hair” you gotta stock up on hairspray. {Allure}

Would You Wear Clogs?

chanel ss10 clogs.jpgIn Vogue’s April issue, Sally Singer hung out with Zoe Kravitz and Olivia Thirlby while they searched high and low for clog boots.

Though no one, from Alex Wang to Opening Ceremony knew what she was talking about, Olivia insisted, “I’m bringing back the clog.”

To which we thought, “No thank you.”

And then of course they stomped their way down Chanel’s runway and forced us to think about them again. So here we are a couple of weeks later, split down the middle. Last night over post-party pizza I told Faran I’d never ever wear clogs. Ever. She gave them a resounding, “Hell yes.” (Though she’s had this debate before.)

Intern Alyssa says no, “They’re ugly and unflattering. Maybe a step up from Crocs,” and intern Kate agrees, “When I was little I had them in lots of different colors to match my outfits. But my mom dressed me, so I had no free will.”

Victoria’s Metallic Secret

heidi vs show big wings.jpgAs if New York Fashion Week wasn’t enough to worry about, a solid chunk of the fashion pack is in Vegas right now at the Capsule tradeshow.

The gossip is, of course, making its way back to New York at a rapid pace. So far we’ve learned that most designers are actually giving peeks of their SS10 collections - the ones set to debut on next week’s (ah!) runways. News of a few major collaborations is trickling in, too.

We also hear Victoria’s Secret is in the process of building a metal cape. That would be a ton of metal, melted down and shaped onto the back of some poor angel for their next runway show in New York this December.

The thought makes Heidi’s wings at left look positively comfortable.

Oh Lorenzo

We were going to put this in mid-day snack, but I was so afraid you wouldn’t click and would miss out on watching Lorenzo speak for almost two minutes.

Marc’s dreamy fiancé (Maybe husband? We can’t keep track.) spent the day at Nylon’s studio last week directing a shoot for Brazilian shoe brand Melissa, the plastic cobbler who’s collaborated with Vivienne Westwood and Zaha Hadid in the past.

The fall shoes are cute and Lorenzo says they even smell delicious.
