looksgoodtome.jpgBlog-alicious: Meet Caroline. She’s guest blogging for Lucky (how we found her), but she’s actually a textile designer with her own blog full of illustrations, both fashion and otherwise, and other very pretty things. {ItLooksGoodToMe}

Oscar & Valentino: The designer’s doc is on the short-list for an Oscar nom. Sadly, The September Issue is not. But we’re still pulling for a fashion victory. Also, we couldn’t be more excited for Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin to host. {Vogue UK}

Thigh High: The kids over at Nylon sound like they had a grand old time recreating Miuccia’s super festive socks and they’re letting us in on the scheme. Just in time for party season. Hooray! {Nylon}

This is the End: They may be denying it, but sources say there’s a major brawl going down between executives at Ungaro over what else? La Lohan. Let’s hope the best man wins. {Page Six}

Lorenzo’s New Gig

lorenzomartonevictoriabeckhamARCNY.jpgWhile people keep asking Lorenzo Martone about his impending nuptials with Marc, we were more interested to read about his new business venture in this morning’s NY Post.

Martone and former Elite marketing director Ryan Brown have created ARC NY, a public relations agency just for models. They told Page Six: “Our goal is to build equity around the girl’s personality.” That means helping them branch out into other projects like acting, singing and product lines.

So far they’ve lined up Lydia Hearst, Alessandra Ambrosio, Fernanda Motta, Julie Henderson, and Jessica White.

We think this sounds like a pretty cool idea. Because it’s always painful to watch a celebrity (model, actress, or singer) stumble into new genres, seemingly without a plan or any guidance whatsoever. And between Lorenzo and Ryan, they’ve got the media savvy backgrounds and serious connections to make some really interest projects happen.

Though we can’t lie and say the possible “singing” careers don’t frighten us just a wee bit. But we’re gonna go ahead and trust in Lorenzo’s good taste on these matters.

cranginecklace.jpgShop Talk: If the credit card machine arrives in time, Philip Crangi’s first store just might open this weekend in the Meatpacking. Shopping for some new jewelry and lunching at Pastis sounds like a pretty perfect Saturday to us. {StyleFile}

Triangulations: When we first read about this Alex von Furstenberg/Ali Kay/Reggie Miller situation over the summer, we didn’t know quite what to think, other than random and huh? Now, it’s gotten even stranger. We can’t imagine DvF is pleased about this at all. {Page Six}

TV on TV: In reality television news, Teen Vogue might be making its way back to the small screen but in what capacity, we’re not sure. Ah, remember the good old Lisa Love days on The Hills? {Fashionologie via Jazzi McG}

Across the Pond: Much like soccer, Cheryl Cole has never really caught on here in the States. But boy do those Brits loooove her. Will she ever become a crossover hit? {Vogue UK}

agynessactress.jpgAdd A Slash: As in model/actress. Next up is Agyness who’s shooting a short film with the guy who plays the ADA on Law & Order. Also we now have “Celebrity Skin” running through our heads, which is not a bad thing at all. {Page Six}

Is Adidas the New Target: They’ve had Jeremy Scott and Stella McCartney, but now they’re onto British brand PPQ. Here’s your first look at their stripe-y, Catwoman-y collection. {Nylon}

Rita Hayworth Gave Good Face: Lindsay Lohan does not. God love (or hate) the Daily Mail for pointing out what we also witnessed last night, some seriously weird expressions that did nothing but age the girl in a major way. {Daily Mail}

tanyadreturnstoparis.jpgMy Favorite Martian: Daria returned to the runways this morning at Balmain. And apparently, the alien-like beauty of Tanya D. will grace us with its presence once again very soon. We missed your boundless energy backstage in New York, Miss T! {Fashin}

LSD’s Burial Outfit?: Apparently it may be a Julian Louie dress. And yes, that’s vaguely morbid. But we still love the commentary on the Vogue-ette’s Fashion Week choices. {StyleFile}

Copping To It: The Nina Ricci relaunch tonight in Paris will be a low-key affair. Our desire to see what Peter does, still anything but low-key. {FWD}

Panty Raid: Eric Wilson’s number three trend of NYFW, Spanx. Well, really briefs, outside the clothes. Linda Wells finds it “perfectly insane”. We’ll respectfully agree to disagree. {NY Times}

To Milan They Go: Apparently it’s sweltering, but Mr. Armani really brought the goods to kick things off. Think flouncy dresses and lots of flats. And then came the D&G cowgirls. Yee-haw! {Joe Zee’s Twitter}

Hair God: Bumble’s Jimmy Paul is often the person behind the runway’s coolest hairstyles. You’ve probably copied something he created more than once. Here’s how he spent NYFW. {Vogue Daily}

Yigal’s Consistent, Content, Comfortable

YIGAL SS10 4.jpgYigal Azrouel’s an inevitable hit.

This season’s front row star was Pamela Love, the jewelry designer (and best friend to Julia Roitfeld) who’s collaborating with a handful of designers, as well as presenting her own collection at MILK later next week.

Further down the front row sat Miss J, Elettra Wiedemann, Emmanuelle Chriqui and Cory Kennedy, but Pamela and Co, including Becka Diamond and Kate Lanphear, better fit Yigal’s slouchy sexy aesthetic.

The thing about his clothes is that even the cocktail dresses look like something you’d be comfortable sleeping in. From the jersey pants to the slouchy tees to the soft leather jackets (and I’m talking men’s and women’s), who doesn’t want to wear this? Especially when it’s hurricaning outside.

Conspicuously absent from the front row was Katie Lee Joel, who’s been at every Yigal thing I’ve attended for two years. Oh the power of Page Six.

(Also, my pictures were so awful, worse than usual, so head to Style.com in the morning!)

Ghosts of Beales Past: A new family is moving into Grey Gardens. We hope this means Celerie Kemble is going to start wearing towels as head wraps and upside down skirts. We won’t mind if they take a pass on the hot plates and raccoon roomies. {WWD}

Just Say No

lindsay-lohan-picture-3forungaro.jpgThis morning Page Six reports that Lindsay Lohan is in Paris talking to the House of Ungaro about a role as a “creative consultant.”

Apparently, Esteban Cortazar isn’t happy about it. And rightly so. If this is true, we hope he stands his ground against this very transparent publicity ploy.

He’s the best thing that’s happened to the house in a long, long time. And they would be well-served by keeping him around for a while to give some much-needed continuity.

Furthermore, we just can’t understand how one could think of Ms. Lohan as the go-to choice for any sort of fashion gig. Her style isn’t exactly interesting or wide-ranging. The actress has a hard enough time getting a job in her chosen profession. And obviously she isn’t the poster child for reliability.

And what on earth does she have to do with Emanuel Ungaro?

We truly hope she can salvage her once promising acting career. We’ve long rooted for her to get that all sorted out and come back with something as beloved as Mean Girls.

But, Lins, if you have to do the fashion thing, please stick to the leggings.

Page Six Magazine Folding Going Quarterly?

chanel iman on cover of page six magazine.jpgThis just in:

Page Six Magazine, the glossy little sister of the New York Post which has featured the likes of Ashanti, Tinsley Mortimer and Elisabeth Hasselbeck on the cover, has just folded.

Like, minutes ago.

Staffers have been notified and you can only expect two more issues, but no word on where we’ll get cute interviews with Chanel Iman from now on.

Carry on.

Update: Gawker’s reporting that it’s just going quarterly, so perhaps not all secret Sunday reading is gone…

Quote of the Day

“He requested seven loaves of Pennsylvania Wheat Bread and a tub of I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter to be brought directly from New York to the set. My only job was bringing him the bread and the fake butter. Karl paid me $500 to do it, plus he paid off my $200 speeding ticket.” - an assistant from the Chanel shoot in Vermont, to Page Six Magazine.
