“I’ve always been known for my scent, if it was in high school, or in the lifeguard truck (‘Where can I get that scent for my wife?’)…I’ve been offered fragrance contracts like everyone else and their dog (hey, that’s that good idea, all natural, of course) but all the elements never came together—the stamp of approval from PETA; the environmental aspects. (I was a bit ahead of my time). But now it works!” —Apparent scent guru Pamela Anderson to Allure on her new perfumes, Malibu and Malibu Nights. We’re gonna go ahead and stick with Daphne Guinness.

While the rest of Fashionista was out and about at Alexander Wang’s show and crazy raucous afterparty, (making me consistently more and more jealous from their tweets) I took a fashion week staycation and trekked over to the School of the Visual Arts Theatre to watch a discussion between Juergen Teller and Cathy Horyn. Here’s what I learned.

1. Has been shooting Marc Jacobs’ advertisments for eleven years, and did not get paid in the beginning.

2. Uses a 35mm camera and refuses to go digital.

3. Does most of his shoots by himself and with his one assistant.

4. Dakota Fanning’s whole family was on set for her Marc Jacobs’ ads, and Dakota sent him a few handwritten letters afterwards saying thanks and recommending books.

5. The legendary Victoria Beckham in a shopping bag ad campaign for MJ only happened because of a personal call Teller put in to Ms. Beckham. Beckham’s lawyers wanted to review all the photos before the ads ran, and Teller refused, so he called Victoria directly instead and the rest is fashion history.

Rachel Bilson’s landed her own InStyle column in what might be the most genius starlet-meets-fashion move we’ve heard in a long, long time.

Since The OC, Rachel’s wandered in and out of a couple of movies and launched a line with DKNY, but it’s her style that keeps her on everyone’s radar.

The magazine’s managing editor, Ariel Foxman, said that most women answer, “Rachel Bilson,” when asked whose style they admire and so they recruited the California girl to write a page or two in the magazine in which she discusses her favorite trends and what she wants to buy for the month. She’ll also answer readers’ style questions.

Rachel tells WWD, “I am not planning on quitting my day job to be a full-time fashion editor, although I am really enjoying it and it intrigues me very much.”

We’re not sure what her day job is, but we think she’d make a kind of awesome fashion editor.

“Last year, President Bush wondered whether Pamela Anderson and Mitt Romney in the same room wasn’t a sign of the apocalypse. This year, President Obama might note The Atlantic’s table, which will seat both Newt Gingrich and pouty Gossip Girl co-star Ed Westwick.” —On the White House Correspondents Association’s annual dinner in WWD.

Pamela Anderson’s Vivienne Westwood contract must be up.

The formerBaywatch star said, “I prefer to be naked, but if I’m not, I want to be wearing Richie Rich.”

And so it naturally follows that she’d develop a line with the old half of Heatherette. The New York-based designer and Pamela, who closed Richie’s super glittery Fall 09 show, are bringing us Muse - an eco-friendly line of leather free shoes, hoodies, skirts and swimwear.

But something tells us she won’t be throwing away her Stella’s anytime soon.

You arrive in the Place Vendome - it’s calm, civilized, Cartier sits on one side, Chanel on the other and The Ritz holds court in the middle. Suddenly, you hear a slight roar and land in a fashion mosh pit.

Vivienne Westwood’s Gold Label show is about to begin. It’s being shown in a building with one glass wall which means all of Paris is sticking their face up against the glass to get a good look. They might be looking for Kate Hudson, whose name is prominently placed front row. But the Hollywood starlet never shows and the crowds make do with Beth Ditto and Georgia May Jagger.

The program notes advise, “I always hijack my fashion shows to talk about culture and politics. The collection is called +5°. Somewhere between 400 ppm and 500ppm of CO2 in the atmosphere the earth will settle down to a new equilibrium of 5° hotter than now. Our luscious comfortable world will be gone. What is left will support hopefully 1/5 of the population. We must plan…How do we prepare for a world to help survivors; just in case there is time to affect this irreversible event, what can we do?”

Then Pamela Anderson storms down the runway, swinging her blond locks and twirling for the pit in a swept up pink tutu and one wonders, “Really Vivienne?”

The Fall 09 collection is 100% Westwood, stripes and glitter over silks and wools pulled and twisted every which way. Colorful socks and printed tights emerge from hefty platforms. There are crystal headbands and violins around the neck. People clap and laugh, Pam still dances, Eliza Cummings closes and even though Vivienne’s show notes go on to demand, “Buy Less!” you want to buy every single thing you just saw - even if you can really only wear it in a dream world.

First, she landed herself the Spring 09 campaign with Vivienne Westwood.

Then, she made a latex-ed appearance at Richie Rich earlier this month.

Now? She’s coming back full force for Vivienne - This time, for Fall, and on her runway.

So if you have an invite to Vivienne’s show in Paris next Friday, we suggest bringing your camera.

(PS Does anyone else think all this fashion participation might mean bigger fashion plans are in the works for the former Playmate?)

Pamela Anderson crashed Richie Rich’s runway at the Waldorf-Astoria tonight.

She pranced, skipped and kicked her way down the catwalk, after the model finale, a singer, a troupe of half-naked dancing men, a Kat Deluna performance, Tinsley, Aubrey O’Day and someone else who looked vaguely familiar, in a gold, thong one-piece bathing suit with plastic coins glued to it - the crowd went nuts.

That crowd included the Paper Mag team and Lynn, Ellen Von Unwerth, Cory & the Cobrasnake, a life-sized pig and Ice-T (who’s randomly popped up at different Fashion Weeks twice now) and his wife whom we were painfully close to in the elevator.

The clothes were, well, not Heatherette, but not much of anything. They were tight, they were bright, there was a one armed spandex unitard in a purple print and lots of plastic coins inexplicably glued to the men’s barely there swimwear. There was one printed summer dress we’d actually wear but we’re pretty sure that wasn’t the point of the show.

It was to have fun and of course, with Richie, it’s always fun.

Thanks to the good people over at Les Mads, Pamela Anderson’s Spring 09 ad campaign for Vivienne Westwood has officially hit the internet.

Predictably, Pamela’s breasts serve as co-stars.

Vivienne and her husband/former student/stylist Andreas Kronthaler flank the Baywatch babe in a few shots. Vivienne even dares to wear the same dress as Pamela (guess who we think looks better).

Can’t wait for this to break in March magazines - It kind of highlights the insert-celebrity-here quality the Katie for Miu Miu campaign can’t rise above.

WWD’s confirming last month’s wild rumor that Pamela Anderson’s the face of Vivienne Westwood for Spring 09.

The former Jane columnist, or Baywatch star, whichever, stars alongside Dame Viv and her husband Andreas Kronthaler in her Malibu trailer.

Juergen Teller’s shot the ads, no surprise there, in which Pam rocks all four of Vivienne’s labels - Red, Gold, Anglomania and MAN.

Apparently, Viv was as surpised as I was to see Pam sitting front row in a smashing gold dress at September’s Red Label show during London fashion week. She was so blown away, in fact, that when it came time to pick the models for the spring campaign she eschewed them altogether in favor of Pam.

We’d have picked a second round of Dita, but we’ll be patient, we swear.

Never ever have we wanted a rumor to be as wrong as we hope this one is.

New York Magazine’s reporting that Pamela Anderson’s not just the new face of Vivienne Westwood, but that the Spring 09 ads have already been shot - in a trailer park.

We did think it was weird that Pam sat front row at Vivienne’s London show - she’s always been a Stella McCartney girl - but we can see Viv thinking this is the funniest thing since making Naomi walk in those blue shoes.

Ok, we’ve actually harbored a secret crush on Pam since her days writing for Jane. And we do think Vivienne’s dresses look best with a nice rack…

So maybe it won’t be so bad. Maybe.
