We hear there are three groups for tomorrow’s Demarchelier shoot in front of the Tents. You know the one for Vogue with 100 models in their FNO tees. If you’re looking for the top girls, they’re most likely in group C…and they’ve got an 8:30 am call time. We’re at events all morning but feel free to send us snapshots!
SPOTTED: Patrick Demarchelier shooting Lily Donaldson rolling an LV suitcase up and down West Broadway.
We’ve always been intrigued by Mary-Kate and Ashley’s adamant choice to remain invisible from The Row.
They’ll make public appearances for Elizabeth and James and talk about it in the press, but when it comes to their $300 t-shirt line they didn’t even advertise until this season and they refuse to let themselves be too publicly associated with it.
But the retailers who are determined to sell their line through this recession can’t help but push a little bit of Olsen into the leather jackets and cotton tees. The Spring 09 editorial-like, giant size Barneys catalog was shot by Patrick Demarchelier and stars a string of current top models rocking head to toe runway looks.
On the last page Eniko wears The Row, with cleaned up Olsen hair, over-sized shades, perfectly chunky Louboutin platforms and for extra emphasis, a white paper coffee cup.
The twins might not want to be the face of The Row, they might want their clients to buy their line based on quality and design expertise, but Barneys knows it takes more than that to sell a $550 white v-neck.
Reader Danielle found herself at Sundance’s premiere of The September Issue and knew she had to share.
Her favorite part? When Bee (Anna Wintour’s daughter) tries to engage her mother in a serious discussion on her own legal career aspirations while Anna gives her a “We’ll-see-about-that” look.

But only if you want to know what happens!
I’m still not used to the kind of fashion show where people care more about Harvey Weinstein than Patrick Demarchelier, more about Katy Perry than Anna Piaggi.
But I guess that’s why I don’t work in PR and why I watch for editors’ reactions instead of the runway at a show where it’s only half about the clothes.
Dior’s afternoon show, held in a tent at the Place de la Concorde end of the Tuileries, boasted movie stars, dramatic music cut with MGMT, ridiculously caged Cindy Lou Who hair, and handbags, of course.
From my perch above the runway, I watched Galliano’s parade of modern warrior princess clothes. Raquel, Caroline Trentini and Tanya D teetered on their carved heels - think Basso & Brooke - wearing snakeskin corsets and chiffon mini dresses made for Tinsley. The Dior beauty ambassador sat front row, the paparazzi crush snapping away at Eva Green and Marion Cotillard right next to her.
The show ended with a string of sheer gowns and a runway strut from Galliano in a particularly deep-v vest. As my new French friend said to me, “Beaucoup de boobies this season, n’est-ce pas?”

Patrick Demarchelier was up in Harlem on Thursday shooting Alicia Keys for Vanity Fair.
He shot her on the steps of a brownstone at 4 West 122nd Street as well as in Marcus Garvey Memorial Park playing piano in a bandshell, and also behind a lemonade stand..

We spent the morning at Le Petit Palais getting back into the fashion vibe.
The museum launched an exhibition of Patrick Demarchelier’s work yesterday and with shows from here until next Sunday, it was our only chance to catch it.
The photographer’s iconic celebrity portraits and fashion editorials are scattered among the permanent collection. Madonna circa Ray of Light hangs by Monet and Cindy Crawford’s next to Camille Pisarro like the Koons at Versailles.
The highlight of the exhibit is a double hallway full of Demarchelier’s proofs. You can see just where he elicited smiles from baby faced Kate Moss. You notice the frames in which Justin Portman surprised Natalia Vodianova and made their son break into giggles. You can tell which pictures he liked and which ones he didn’t.
It’s probably some sort of fashion sacrilege to take pictures of Demarchelier’s pictures, but we’d do anything for you.
