Iconix Brands Inc., are thrilled to announce the group will appear in various ad campaigns for their new junior brand, Op, to be sold at select Wal-Mart stores around the country.
Just please don’t tell us they’ll be co-designing the line, we might have a heart attack.
Natalie: Ew, I just read that Ashlee Simpson’s designing a line for Wet Seal.
Britt: Of course she is.
Natalie: I didn’t even know Wet Seal was still around. Apparently it’s a line of t-shirts with pictures “inspired by her sense of style, her personality and her album artwork.”
Britt: Ew, I’m picturing Jessica strutting around in plastic shoes, Ashlee drawing on her t-shirts and Pete strolling in wearing DKNY girl’s jeans.
Natalie: HA! When she and Pete get married they can design housewares for Sears. And Jessica can pitch it on QVC!
Britt: They are so creative. Why couldn’t I have been born a Simpson?
(both dissolve into a fit of giggles)
Against everything that we understand, the fashion industry seems to love Pete Wentz.
He’s designed his own line, Clandestine Industries, beat Rachel Bilson to designing a capsule collection for DKNY Jeans, posed for the Gap, and now, the prince of guyliner is partnering with Nordstrom to bring his junior high mall-kid aesthetic to other junior high kids at the mall.
According to WWD, Wentz is launching a junior sportswear line (not unlike Heidi Montag, may we remind,) still under the name Clandestine Industries to launch in April. The clothes, consisting mostly of jeans and tees are meant to be unisex (oh this is going to go over so well with 12 year-olds shopping with their moms,) and will be sold in Nordstrom’s BP sections, where we’ve been secretly buying flats for years.
Nordstrom already has a plan in the works to prime shoppers for the emo overload coming this spring - a Pete Wentz CD-DVD featuring behind-the-scenes footage of the design collaboration and some previously unheard songs by Wentz will be available just before the line debuts.
We’re betting on an Ashlee Simpson guest design collection next. Because really, at this point, why not?
Bad news for emo haters:
The prince of guyliner, Pete Wentz, has been spotted sporting Dior Homme in the window of his Angels + Kings bar on 11th St.
Although some rock stars do start getting wasted at noon, that wasn’t the case here -
Pete appears to be posing for a fashion shoot inside, sans Ashlee Simpson.
But just because he’s not boozing doesn’t mean the carafes of vodka behind the bar are in vain -
After all, we giggle seeing Pete in a pair of skinny twill pants, spreading his fashion fantasies to suburban girls everywhere… but we suspect stylists everywhere may need a stiff drink.
