We love the nautical, and as we’ve already got our perfect navy and white striped shirt, new boating inspired looks are welcome.
So we’re glad that we came across these Freemont cuff shorts on Pixie Market, on sale for $83. They kind of remind us of antique illustrations of sailboats meshed with Eric Chase Anderson’s illustrations for his brother Wes’ films (particularly, of course, The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou). We’re digging the playful vibe, and the slightly high waist.
And maybe this year we’re in for an Indian Summer, which would mean extra time to stroll around in shorts. If not, we think these would still look pretty great with a warm pair of wool tights for fall.

We’ve seen bows everywhere lately. From the Armani Prive couture show to Lady Gaga’s blond locks. We turn around, we see a bow. And we’re not saying that’s a bad thing.
When we happened up this flowered one shoulder top from Pixie Market featuring a seriously drool-worthy version of the bow, it made us smile.
The shape of the shirt and its delicate flower pattern are super cute without being too precious—something we try to avoid at all costs.
Plus, it’s on sale for $47. Does it get better?

So, Gossip Girl began shooting again today, and our sartorial choices are unconsciously becoming super Blair-like.
Which explains why we can’t get enough of this romper from Liquorish.
It has ruffles (which we adore) and looks enough like a dress to make our romper nerves disappear.
And the super tiny cherry buttons and the collar in the back give this piece the perfect amount of whimsy.
The romper is available at Pixie Market for $85, which is enough to bring out the sailor in us.

We have trouble with hats - the only one we’ve successfully worn was a straw fedora bought on the side of the road in far northern California.
They can be hard to fit and hard to wear appropriately on multiple occasions.
But this mini-boater by Chapeau Claudette is the most perfect little head topper we’ve ever seen. Before you say it’s impractical, please note that the best hats always are. And in America circa now there are few events at which one can wear a truly spectacular, feathered chapeau.
This, however, is perfect with jeans and a t-shirt, with a romper, with a sun dress, with your hair up or down and it’s bound to start a conversation or two.
Now if spring would just actually get here, we’d be set.
So when we first saw this bracelet, we clicked for a closer look because we thought it looked like the one in Shakespeare in Love and we’ve been scouring markets and boxes full of antique jewelry since 1998 looking for a hollow bangle like the one Will gave Rosaline.
Anyway, this isn’t it.
But, it is a super cute bird bangle that you can push pretty far up your arm, always a plus, and wear with loads of other jewels.
The best part is, from far away it just looks like a really abstract shiny bangle but when you get closer it looks like a bird is nuzzling up to your elbow, in a not-creepy jewelry kind of way.
Also, sadly, a bird on your arm is as close as you’re going to get to spring for a while.
