Yesterday, Jared, as in Just, posted about the latest starlet to wear Prabal Gurung on the red carpet, Leighton Meester.

There’s something in there about rosettes and something about singing and even something about American Eagle Outfitters, but we can’t really get past the part where she’s out and about with Vogue’s Entertainment Editor Jillian Demling.

Leighton’s boyfriend, Carter Baizen, was also present, but she was with Jillian enough to get them written up as a threesome on gossip blogs which means they’re

a) New best friends.

b) Conducting interviews through a week’s worth of parties.

c) Scoping out possible cover outfits.

Either way, progress for Team Blair.

As October comes to an end, there’s still lots going on in the fight against breast cancer. Designers such as Betsey Johnson, Donna Karan, Tory Burch, Prabal Gurung, Tracy Reese, Milly, Rachel Roy, Rebecca Taylor and Jill Stuart, have all teamed up with Sharpie to contribute to the fund-raising efforts. (We love our colorful Sharpies and use them every day for graphics so it’s great to see the company getting so involved with fashion this year!)

The designers have created one-of-a-kind designs using Sharpie markers, including a t-shirt customized by Betsey Johnson, who is a breast cancer survivor. All items are being auctioned off on eBay and benefit City of Hope, a leading cancer research and treatment center.

Bidding for the designer sketches and t-shirts ends on Monday, November 2nd at 1pm (PST), so get on over there and bid!

To say that the fashion industry is like high school is nothing new, but it’s also totally true. Which is why I love this Vanity Fair piece wrapping up the SS10 season with yearbook-style awards for different designers and collections.

We pretty much agree with their choices. Prabal Gurung was definitely on our Most Likely to succeed list. And Mary Kantrantzou for Best Nerd and we like Christopher Kane for Biggest Flirt. Though perhaps our favorite was the cutest couple, which is actually a threesome: Lara, Freja, and Baptiste.

A few more high school-themed suggestions that came to mind are Tory Burch for Class Treasurer because really who does sell-able better than she does at this point? That would be one profitable class. Plus I found this season much cooler than usual. Monique Lhuillier can head up the prom committee with all her pretty party dresses. And Alexander McQueen is for sure in charge of the A/V club.

So who do you elect to Class Council? And who gets your superlatives?

Prabal Gurung showed his second eponymous collection yesterday, to a full house including Vogue-ettes, Peter Som, LSD, Rachel Zoe & Brad, Derek Blasberg, Elettra Rossellini Wiedemann, buyers from Barneys and Bergdorf Goodman and a bevy of other impeccably dressed admirers who squeezed into a tiny square of a room high above Chelsea.

The clothes were asking for a major scene on Rachel’s show - they ranged from cocktail appropriate to Oscar perfect, including a pretty major red dress with giant black bows and a skinny white tux with a sheer white blouse underneath; the white Grecian goddess-like dress was our favorite.

Prabal was the best part though - the adorable designer bopped around with the biggest smile on his face. Guess that’s what happens when you manage to create the newest and most major buzz at New York Fashion Week.

Prabal Gurung, formerly of Bill Blass, currently of his own increasingly successful label, needs a few sales interns for the fall semester. They’ll assist the sales team during selling campaigns and perform administrative tasks for the department. They’ll also liaise with PR and sample trafficking, research new stores, reach out to buyers, assist the sales reps with appointments and revise purchase orders and line sheets.

The perfect candidate must have strong writing skills and be both professional and organized. You should also have an off-site computer equipped with Excel.
