Hairstylist Lea Journo’s salon inside the Beverly Wilshire (yes, that would be the Reg Bev Wil) looks way groovier than you would expect for the old school ritzy hotel.
I first met Lea when I was writing a story about her for the now (sadly!) defunct Vitals and I instantly adored her. She’s Parisian and fabulous, not to mention incredibly talented.
She cut my hair during my LA years and I definitely miss her cuts and our chats.

We find ourselves sitting here pondering: what would Vivian do? Yes, that would be the Vivian played by Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman.
You see, we’ve now actually been invited to the Veuve Clicquot Manhattan Polo Classic which we already imagined like a scene out of the the movie.
You may also remember us swooning over Prince Harry’s attendance. We weren’t sure we’d be able to go, but now that we are, we’re flummoxed over hat choices.
While we may not share a profession with the fictional Viv, much like her, we don’t oft have occasion (or inclination) to wear the type of hat that feels proper for an afternoon of polo on Governor’s Island.
We also don’t have Edward’s credit card to max out.
Plus, we’ve always found that hats are one of the hardest things to shop for. Any shop suggestions that carry options that might also work for beach weekends? Oh, and we’re also in the market for something for our everyday city-centric selves, too.
It’s really hard to concentrate on a show when Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson are in the DJ booth and Mark Ronson and his new girlfriend are sitting across the aisle and you feel like you’re living in Perez Hilton.
But we finally peeled our eyes away and focused them on the runway for Charlotte’s Fall show.
Dark lipstick, again! Tight ponytails and some very serious Pretty Woman leather lace-up boots. There were lots of little dresses - it’s Charlotte Ronson, after all - jumpsuits, bolero jackets, tight tight pants and some of the western flair we saw this morning at Yigal (more on him soon).
There were cut out shoulders - which we saw later at Shipley & Halmos - and shearling vests and jackets belted over ruffled dresses.
It was a lot, it was fun, it was a little scarier than expected.
And please, excuse Lindsay in the corner of nearly all our photos.
