As you well know, most fashion and beauty internships don’t pay a salary.
But finally, we’ve got one that does! Guess is looking for someone to work in their public relations department for…$10/hour.
You’ll be trafficking samples, keep the showroom all nice and presentable, maintaining the databases, and helping out with press previews and market appointments for Guess, Guess by Marciano, and G by Guess.
They’re looking for candidates that are at least sophomores in college, but recent grads can feel free to apply too.
And you get paid. Hooray!! If you’re interested, click here to apply.

Phillip Lim needs some PR help and
a) You don’t have to be a student.
b) They’ll cover your transportation costs.
c) They’ll pay for lunch (though you probably won’t be eating at Mercer Kitchen)
But to win those things you must be dependable, detail-oriented, organized and able to multi-task. Also, you need good communication skills & phone etiquette, Microsoft Apps efficiency and two to three days of availability.

We introduce a new segment on Fashionista in which we talk to people in the fashion world about their jobs, and what exactly it is that they do all day. Editors, publicists, agents, photographers, you name it - because don’t you want to know what it means to “scout”? Or “do market work”?
Yeah, we knew you would. So here’s the first installment - we spent an afternoon with Thomas Onorato (former nightlife impresario, far left) and Max Wixom (former theatre man and technical wiz, left) of OW! Public Relations, to find out exactly how they end up doing all the best parties, and representing some of the coolest designers.
So we stopped by their Garment District loft, where we found them discussing hair and prints with designer Michael Angel, and got down to it -
So first, I want to start with the basics, like how did OW! happen? Where did you two even meet?: Well…

If you happen to know Kate Bartle, Starworks’ Director of Accessories, then you may or may not already know this:
Kate’s left her PR job at Starworks as of yesterday.
Her mega destination? Working in the PR department of DVF.
Which, I’m sure you’ve all put together by now, means she’s Whitney Port’s newest co-worker (and confidante?) and our favorite new pick for reality show cast member.
And now you know.
Converse is looking for a PR Administrative Assistant, to work on a six month-long contract, and who already has at least a year or two of experience in PR.
You must be cool with assisting a team of about six people, working in NYC, drafting / filing / copying / mailing all kinds of documents, booking travel (and never screwing that up), mastering the basics of PR from top to bottom, and working for Matt, the nicest PR guy in all of Converse (and PR) history.
Interested (and qualified) candidates: e-mail pr@converse.com with a brief cover letter in the body of the email with relevant office/PR experience, with a subject line that reads, “PR ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT RESUME”, and obviously, your stellar resume attached.
Good luck! And if you see any size 6, low-top, purple chucks lying around..
