Sui and GG: Pictures have surfaced of Anna’s Blair/Serena/Little J/Vanessa-inspired collection for Target. We’re liking, lots. {Refinery29 via The Cut}
Football Moms: I love the NFL and can be spotted every Sunday of the fall/winter proudly donning my Peyton Manning jersey (go Colts!) But this seems pretty darn niche: Reebok is launching NFL maternity gear. {WWD}
Bird is the Word: Juicy Couture has created a pricier, but more grown up line. We’re reserving judgment until we see it in person. {Elle}
Michelle Trachtenberg’s danced around the fashion crowd for a bit now without actually attaching her name to anything (except for her stint as one of the faces for Candie’s at Kohl’s which she’d probably like us to forget.)
But now she’s throwing a party for Guess.
They’re re-opening their Soho flagship store at the end of July and Georgina Sparks, along with Marie Claire, will host the bash.
Which of course makes us wonder, will Michelle grace an upcoming cover of Marie Claire or join forces with Guess’ sultry models?
It also makes us wonder what went wrong in the world of Gossip Girls-turned-campaign faces. We’re still not over Leighton for Reebok or Ed for K Swiss, and Michelle for Guess is just as disturbing. They all have faces worthy of high fashion campaigns and Michelle and Leighton both have curves we’d love to see in runway clothes.
Way back in November, Leighton Meester was photographed doing a Reebok shoot on the street.
Just today, Vogue UK’s reporting about the campaign, and also saying that the CW star is set to do “another” campaign come mid-May.
But since we’ve never seen any of the Leighton/Reebok images in any magazines, and since Vogue UK’s still reporting that Agyness has had a Reebok campaign, too (she hasn’t) we’re just as confused as Blair Waldorf would be if she could see herself wearing trainers in public.
Stay tuned for more answers.
In the meantime, would it add a dash of much-needed realism to GG if they brought in some more gym class scenes, closely followed by less than perfect hair?
UPDATE: Reebok’s PR confirms that “Leighton is the face of Reebok at Lady Foot Locker through 2009,” and we’re now waiting on dates for when those ads hit print.
This really weird video that starts out with Taylor Momsen and ends with an equally bleached blonde stunt double is:
a) Part of Nike’s new underground campaign - note gratuitous shots of Little J’s sports bra’s swish and insanely bright Nike sneakers.
b) Part three of Gossip Girl’s sneaker invasion, Ed for KSwiss, Leighton for Reebok? (Can Chace land Puma? Will Blake follow up her Vogue cover with an Adidas campaign? Will someone on Gossip Girl actually wear sneakers?)
c) The missing part of Taylor’s awkward Teen Vogue gym story (in which she’s also rocking Nikes)?
d) Part of something we don’t know about, and you’re going to tell us…
It’s not Marc, it’s not Miu Miu, in fact it’s nothing we really care about which is painful since we really care about Leighton.
She’s the new face of Reebok.
And not the way Agyness was the new face of Reebok, not just a passerby at a party who happens to be wearing Reeboks, there’s proof this time.
She shot the ads in New York on Saturday morning, with short brown hair and an outfit that would make Blair Waldorf cringe and Jenny Humphrey jump for joy.
Over the weekend, Reebok opened a pop-up store, called Flash, at 169 Bowery.
The store exists for just one month, and they’ll rotate limited-edition kicks and clothes each week, which will surely make it a frequent stop on the way to L’asso.
All the merchandise is supposed to be “never before seen”, but we think they’ll still squeeze in the Monopoly sneakers they created a couple months ago - which we’ve yet to see in person - between the dozens of limited-edition designs the company consistently cranks out.
We suggest checking out the store before December 15 - that’s the day it closes and the Bowery address returns to its, well, Boweryness.
Everybody was pretty upset last week when Hasbro finally shut down Scrabulous, so it looks like they’ve found a way for everybody to kiss and make up -
They’ve teamed up with Reebok to create a line of shoes based on Monopoly, the first wave of which comes out later this month, retailing between $75 and $85.
We appreciate the funny collaboration, and really do have fond memories of our brother getting us to set up the entire game of Monopoly when we were kids, then turning the entire board over and declaring “Game Over!” before it had even begun, but could we please get a little RIP Scrabulous and get some kicks that spell out funny words in Scrabble tiles, too?
Here’s a fun rumor as heard on the campaign trail (that’s fashion, not politics, in case you’re wondering):
Scarlett Johansson won’t be involved with Reebok anymore, and instead, the brand is actively courting more celebrity involvement from other red carpet babes.
We really liked the heart-laden last collection made by Scarlett for the brand - inspired, apparently, by vintage shopping with the actress - but we can think of a few other women who are sporty, confident, and could be cool replacements.
We’re thinking Gwen Stefani, Jessica Biel (as much as we don’t really love her), and especially Rihanna could do the honors of representing strong, sexy girls around the world.
And fortunately, we heard from an insider that one of those women is indeed being considered for an upcoming partnership.
Agyness: I’m so not endorsing Reebok. I just went to a party! My friends work for Reebok and I was in Paris and they were all like let’s hang out! So someone snapped a picture of me. But then everyone was like, “Agyness signed a contract with Reebok!” - but I didn’t!
Britt: It was a just a rumor?
Agyness: Yeah! So, big scoop girls! Tell everyone.
Who knew Perez Hilton was a source of breaking fashion news?
Yesterday the Manic Panicked blogger posted a shot of Agyness Deyn in Paris, getting photographed for the new Reebok campaign!
We think the face of Armani, Mulberry, and Burberry will be a brilliant fit for the brand, especially since they’ve let Scarlett Johansson and Christina Ricci put their stamps on the sneakers before.
There’s only one problem:
Agyness has famously claimed she never works out -
That rumor we spread about Mark Fast doing a line for Topshop? It's true. And it's in last week's Sunday Telegraph magazine which means it was true before we even said anything and we've had it in our lap since... Read More
