Georgia Jagger for Versace

georgia jagger lands versace.jpgOn Saturday morning I read that Georgia Jagger was the new face of Versace.

Then I dressed up as a nevernude and drank too much tequila so I’m just remembering now what I meant to report Monday morning.

The Imaginary Socialite tucked the tidbit into the bottom of a roundup:

“Georgia Jagger for Versace?! Bestill our fashion hearts; this is amazing.”

We’re not sure there’s a right way and a wrong way to become a super famous awesome model, but landing a solid denim campaign (Hudson), followed by a Vogue cover (UK), a cosmetic contract (Rimmel) and then graduating to a major house (Versace), seems damn perfect.

Georgia & Coco for Rimmel

georgia jagger to rimmel.jpgRimmel’s signed Georgia Jagger and Coco Rocha.

At the rate she’s going, Georgia might soon be the new Coco. Her Hudson Jean ads just debuted last month, her first Vogue UK cover this month and now, with a cosmetic contract in hand, she’s officially more model than someone’s daughter.

The British makeup brand, most notably fronted by Kate Moss, needs a shakeup, “Rimmel embodies the London look, which is very resonant with young people all over the world who look to London as a center of multiculturalism and freedom of expression.”

The senior vice president of marketing’s words sounded a bit off until WWD made sure to note that by January, they’ll have signed three new not-white faces. For now, they’re hoping Georgia’s provocative edge and Coco’s “sensuality” will spice things up a bit.

Lily’s Beauty Ads Out

lily cole for rimmel.jpgLily Cole’s ads for Rimmel, which were announced almost a year ago, have finally hit Rimmel.com.

She poses with her mouth just parted, her hair in the wind, and each and every one of her freckles airbrushed out of existence.

As much as we love a great NSFW editorial with Ms. Cole, this beauty bot shot doesn’t sit quite right.

PS Does anyone else think freckles are completely adorable?!

Lily Cole to Rimmel

lily cole makeup.jpgEveryone’s known for quite some time that British pop queen Sophie Ellis-Bextor was set to be one of the new faces of Rimmel, under momma Kate’s reign.

But WWD confirmed another face this morning, the one that may or may not be edging Kate out of her spot at Agent Provocateur, Lily Cole.

Apparently, Kate will always be in her own ads, so Sophie and Lily will have to learn how to share ad space.

We wonder if Rimmel’s planning on expanding into at-home hair color. Couldn’t you see an ad with Sophie (the brunette), Kate (the sort-of blonde) and Lily (the red) talking about bounce and shine?

That is, if Kate deigned to be only 1/3 of a page.

Rimmel Gets Another Face

sopie ellis bextor.jpgThere have been rumors of Kate Moss being ousted from her post as the Rimmel girl for some time, but now there are rumors that name an actual replacement -

Catwalk Queen’s reporting that the mass beauty brand has signed another face to star alongside Kate, and it’s Sophie Ellis-Bextor.

The English pop star’s reportedly signed a multi-pound, three-year contract requiring her to shoot two campaigns per year, the first of which is already finished.

Coty, Rimmel’s parent company, claims they’re just looking for new faces to reach new global markets, but that Kate will stay on as the brand’s worldwide ambassador.

We’re wondering if the beautiful Laurie Bing will finally be bumped up from press model to public ad girl, but we guess we’ll have to wait and see…

Laurie Bing Takes Some Kate Moss Turf At Rimmel

Laurie Bing There’s only one thing we like more than Rimmel’s smoky eyeliner, and it’s Rimmel’s forever face, Kate Moss.

Of course, being a style icon, a “designer,” a mom, and maybe the best partier of the late 20th century does take a lot of time, and so Ms. Moss can’t be available for every shoot.

Enter Laurie Bing, a young model, who recently posed for some Rimmel looks sans the great Kate in New York City.

The photos will only be shown to beauty editors and makeup industry professionals, at least for now. But with her doe-eyed gaze and wispy figure, it’s not hard to see how Ms. Bing could be another rock and roll waif in the making.

That is, if Francis Bean Cobain doesn’t beat her to it.
