“Geez”, muttered a friend Wednesday night. We’re standing in a jam packed club - not even a famous one - heaving with human traffic and queueing for £14 drinks. “What recession?”

Indeed what recession — it’s certainly not in London. After a manic LFW, one would expect everything to calm down for a moment, for the money and champagne to stop flowing. Instead, we’ve experienced a pent up demand to party - and wear the clothes \ we so innocently bought during fashion month.

The action’s hot and heavy: this week alone saw the bash celebrating the Juicy Couture store opening (which shares a block with Matthew Williamson & Stella’s store), the Tatler 300th anniversary party and the Vogue/Bulgari party. Last night, Alasdhair Willis (Stella’s husband), threw an intimate do at his Duke Street gallery, while Cindy Crawford launched her Omega collection at the Almada club (where Anna Wintour made her LFW date with Chris Kane). The latter drew the most stars yet including Lily Allen, Rosie Huntingdon Whiteley and Jasmine Guinness whilst Rhys Ifan flirted outrageously with model du jour, Tolula Adeyemi.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is climbing back up quite nicely it seems.

After a rather anonymous job for DoTheGreenThing.com, the jilted beauty has managed to land herself as the body for the D&G Underwear ads, which seems to be her only fashion campaign for the season, not counting some continuing work for Agent Provocateur.

We think she’s probably one spread away from landing herself a Fall campaign for somebody big enough to be considered “back,” (Calvin Klein Jeans? Etro?) and then it’ll be like the whole thing never happened.

Which just goes to show - If you do the crime, make sure you have the time to pose like a wrestler for a little while.

Looks like getting dumped by Burberry for publicly witnessed drug use isn’t the final nail in your coffin if you’re gorgeous enough -

Not only has Kate Moss bounced back nicely from her own incident, but Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, who posed for the British brand for only one season before getting the boot due to pictures involving a suspicious pipe accessory, has a new job, too.

Vogue UK reports she’s the new face of DoTheGreenThing.com, a site aimed at helping ordinary people slowly transition into a greener lifestyle. The young beauty poses SJP girly-style with a green dog, which is probably more Lily Cole style than anybody else.

Today’s WWD has images of the new Burberry campaign, for which Christopher Bailey dropped Agyness for lesser known model, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley

It might be a sad day for Agyness - Burberry was kind of her calling card, and the new campaign looks a little dull anyway.

But something tells us she might be too busy laughing her way to the bank to care - Shiseido’s swapped one serious face for another, dropping Angelina Jolie (after two years) for Agyness!

We love when beauty companies use real models, but probably not as much as Agyness loves that beauty company-sized paycheck.

A couple weeks ago, we shared with you guys that Agyness was no longer going to be the Burberry girl starting next season.

Now everyone’s in a tizzy over that Metro UK article where an “insider” spills that Testino has dropped Agyness not because girls are dropped from campaigns all the time, but specifically because he thinks she’s “over-exposed”.

And the girl said to be her replacement? Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, a 21-year old that the British press has been swearing is the next Kate Moss since 2004, and Christopher Bailey’s date to the Met ball earlier this month.

Can a girl best known for modeling underwear replace the quirky Agyness?

It looks like we’re about to find out.
