Got Her: On 13th and University
Stalked Her: Because we totally thought her pashmina was a jacket because of the way she had it tucked and pulled. Once she walked by, we had to know more.
Shot Her: Because her cuffed jeans and the scarf wrapped around her said it all - this girl was dressing for comfort, yet, looked adorable.
She Says: “I got the scarf off the street and I stole these jeans from my roommate, a boy.”
We Say: We’ve always wished we could wear actual boys jeans as our own. Well done!

If you happen to work in an office loft, then you might be familiar with our dilemma:
Lots of co-workers, one big space, one air conditioner.
And if you’re anything like us, you might happen to sit right next to the air conditioner, where it emits its blasts of cold, whip-like wind, and the sleeveless outfit you picked out for the 85+ degree weather outside isn’t helping your situation.
So we were on the hunt for a cute, blanket-sized scarf that we could leave at work for the next three months, when we saw this tiger striped-like cashmere and silk option on Oak.
At $165, it would be the most expensive scarf we have ever considered purchasing, but we see many uses for it once the summer’s over - a cover on the beach, a legit scarf when it goes from summer to fall, a bedspread when we’re not quite ready to blast heat into our bedroom, a turban for late-night silly sessions, etc.
Until then, we’ll just wrap ourselves up in it everyday and maybe growl a little if anyone tries to up the A/C.
By now you’ve surely heard all the buzz surrounding tonight’s ball at the Brooklyn Museum celebrating Takashi Murakami’s “Murakami” exhibit.
Kanye West will perform, Marc Jacobs will pose, Jay-Z might appear…yadda yadda. As always, we’re most concerned with the fashion.
At left is the LV camouflage print designed for the event (which we think is actually pretty genius), which will be sold, along with other LV bags, at tonight’s event via ten New York street vendor style booths. The move is meant to showcase just how serious Louis Vuitton is about cracking down on fakes, a part of the company’s new “zero tolerance” policy on counterfeits. They’re even having a press conference about it right before tonight’s event.
No word on whether Marc’s Göran Olofsson scarf will be sold alongside other LV goodies…
We’re not usually so into paying $50 for a scarf.
But if it’s super cute, and 100% of net proceeds go to charity, we can make an exception.
Secrets of Charm, whose girly, whimsical clothes is a big hit with, well, girls, has partnered with Hope Shining, a foundation that helps children impacted by violence and abuse. They’ve designed four scarves, two cotton and two silk, that we think will look perfect tied up in messy hair with a white tee and tall sandals in a couple months.
The scarves are available only on Ravinstyle - and the cotton version is only $18 instead of the pricier silk version.
Now if the net proceeds of Balenciaga’s tallest sandals ever went to charity, we might have a really good reason to go to 22nd and 10th…
We love to have a scarf around to tie on a bag like Babe Paley, protect our neck when its cold, or wear as a cape on Halloween, but on a day like today, it’s just too warm to run around with a cashmere muffler.
So now that we’re envisioning ourselves dining al fresco in striped sailor tees and Topsiders, we find ourselves searching for the perfect light cotton scarf to keep the visual interest that neck wear can add to an outfit without the bulk or warmth of the winter variety.
And yet, nothing could get us to pull out our Alexander McQueen Skull Scarf lest we look like an American Apparel employee.
But this strangely adorable version from Quentin and Claude meets our requirements perfectly. It’s light enough for spring weather, cute enough for our friends, and it plays on our childhood love of entomology enough to give us a little jolt of giddiness in the morning.
And that kind of makes us smile.
