Streetwalker: High School Sweetheart

streetwalker remy.jpgRemy, Student (I asked her what she’s studying and she’s still in high school to which my friend replied, “Damn, I wish I was that cool and poised in high school).

Got Her: At Mike Figgis’ photography opening at Milk last night (which you should really go check out).

Stalked Her: Because an olive green/hot pink combo always works, because I had to know why everyone in the room wanted to talk to her and because she was the only person wearing actual color.

Shot Her: Because she was basically wearing a fashionable sack and looked amazing. Also, because when I said, “Hi, I’m from Fashionista,” she gave me the biggest hug ever.

She Says:
“I’m in one of the pictures! I know Mandy, from Seventh House, and when Mike started the project she called me to ask if I’d pose, which of course I did because Mike’s amazing!” (Which explains why everyone wanted to talk to her.) “I’m on Seventeen’s style council, I love throwing random things together.”

Showroom Seven's Retail Game

beyond 7 1 .jpgShowroom Seven did what every smart showroom should do - open a retail space, Beyond 7, underneath their offices at 27th and 11th to sell the designers they represent.

The store, which opened a little over a month ago, houses lucite racks hanging with Tony Cohen, Issa, Benjamin Cho, Andy & Debb, Jillian Lewis, Elise Overland (they might not rep her, but they still love her) and of course walls and walls of Erickson Beamon jewelry (Showroom Seven was founded by Karen Erickson, Erickson Beamon’s designer).

The best part, aside from the rare guitars, are the one-of-a-kind pieces their designers make just for this space. As in, you can buy a dress by someone who sells everywhere but still be the only one wearing it. And if you’re lucky, one of the major stylists and personal shoppers who spend their days pulling from Showroom Seven will be around for an honest opinion.

Given the abundance of galleries in the neighborhood, they’re doing their best to embrace the arty side of fashion with rotating exhibits, book readings and dance performances.

Also, Seventh House is going forward with nine whole runway shows which gives us confidence that somewhere out there some people are ok.

If ‘7’ Is Your Lucky Number…

charlotte ronson fall 2.jpgSeventh House PR, which if you don’t already work in fashion you know from Fashionista Diaries, is looking for a Senior Account Executive.

The company reps a long list of fashion brands including Charlotte Ronson, Kova & T and Dazed and Confused Magazine and they need someone with over three years of experience to join their team.

If you have strong press & media contacts and an aggressive attitude, if you can write well, work best under pressure and are up for working in a very close knit environment, you might work.

You also need to be prepared to work super hard, probably day and night, and have experience with event planning and execution - but if you have enough experience to apply for this job, you already know this.

If you think you’re qualified, email amber@showroomseven.com and maybe we’ll see you in September.
