As soon as the BCBG show ended this morning, a nice chunk of the crowd made their way a few blocks south to Keens Steakhouse for the Organic by John Patrick presentation, styled again this season by Lauren Goodman.

Now nothing makes me happier then a quick compliment (well, except looking at pretty clothes, hair and makeup), especially when it comes from one of my all-time favorite models, Shalom. She was holding court up near the bar and I had to snap a shot of her adorable bow tie. When she gave my blazer, boyfriend tee, and bleach splotched JET jeans the thumbs up, I knew my day was going to be just fine indeed. Thanks, Shalom!

The collection definitely didn’t disappoint either.The dark room and the ultra sexy pin curls and red lips (thanks to Odile Gilbert for Aveda and Gucci Westman for Revlon) perfectly offset the pretty yet sultry spring selections. There was definitely a bit of a boudoir thing going on. And the pieces felt like a natural, lighter evolution of the strong, dark fall palette we saw in February. I’m pretty sure Britt should put in a personal order for one of those trenches asap while I’m eyeing the pastel printed dresses. And of course, you don’t for one second get the sense of anything crunchy or granola.

And that’s just the way we like our sustainable fashion, thank you very much.

As much as pop culture invades every part of fashion these days, we’re not usually the go-to site for MTV coverage. But this WWD retrospective got me thinking about all the fashion-y things I’ve loved and lost on the once very stylin’ network over the years.

Of course, there were the awesome first two incarnations of House of Style which furthered my youthful obsession with models. Cindy was beyond. And I regularly dreamed about being best friends with Shalom and Amber.

But there were so many other style moments that seem to be missing in this era of Lauren, Heidi, et al. Perhaps because it’s hard to even catch a video on the channel.

Because its not like the entire music industry has lost it’s style, just that MTV kinda has.

One of the best show’s during Fall 08 Fashion Week was Shalom Harlow’s Earth Pledge. The supermodel culled together the cream of the designer and model crop to show off a series of stunning, eco-friendly outfits.

This year’s Fashion-Cares-About-The-Environment event will take place at the Museum of Natural History on September 4th. The Angela Lindvall hosted runway show doubles as the launch of the Be Eco-Chic campaign.

Donna Karan, Ralph Rucci and Vena Cava are a few of the designer’s showing looks modeled by Alek Wek, Lauren Hutton, Alexandra Richards, Patti Hansen and “a smattering of TV stars” according to WWD.

Everyone should show at museums - they really make the best venues - but we will miss Shalom.

WWD reports that Valentino is looking to the 90’s for the final ad campaign before his scheduled retirement.

The campaign features models Amber Valletta and Shalom Harlow, who appeared as a duo frequently in the 90’s, most notably on the March 1997 cover of Vogue.

The campaign will also include Raquel Zimmerman, Anja Rubik, and male models Oriol Elcacho and Michael Gandolfi. But we’re most excited to see Shalom and Amber together again -

Maybe there’ll be a surprise appearance by Cindy?

We doubt it, but stay tuned for the pics anyway…

If you’re in Los Angeles right-this-second, you can sneak onto the set of the Valentino Campaign, which they’re currently shooting for Spring ‘08.

The ads are some of the last for the designer, whose retirement kicks into gear next year.

And to celebrate his second-to-last collection, Mr. Valentino has chosen a mix of old-school super models and new industry favorites to show off his confection couture.

Replacing Gemma Ward and Hilary Rhoda (and Sienna Miller!) as the new faces of the brand are…

Those who dig Fashion Trivia should note it’s the second time Shalom and Anja have posed together - the first being for Chloe’s most recent campaign.

It’s no secret that Isaac Mizrahi loves the stage - the designer graduated from the High School of Performing Arts in Manhattan, made a faux documentary about fashion, and recently headlined a cabaret act at Joe’s Pub.

Now he’ll perform again, in Prokofiev’s classic children’s piece, Peter and the Wolf.

The performance takes place at the Guggenheim Museum, and highlights the young artist Andrew Scott Ross, who was commissioned to create huge paper sculptures for the performance.

The event is part of Works & Process, a Guggenheim program that helps show how artists develop their ideas and pieces - which sounds a little like Isaac’s own show on The Style Network, where his TV set was also his studio, and he would cut patterns as he interviewed celebrities like Shalom Harlow.

When Amber Valetta walked into the Chris Benz dinner for Lancome, we were already obsessed, but then she pulled out her Prada clutch. “You’re in love with it, aren’t you?” she asked, so we tiptoed to her side of the table (where she sat next to Shalom Harlow in a pool of unfairness) and did a little style investigation.

AMBER: It actually has hooks for a chain on the inside; it’s supposed to be a proper bag but I thought it would be much better as a clutch.

US: So in love.

AMBER: It goes with everything and all my friends want to steal it.

US: Yeah, Chris Benz said he’d swipe it for us as soon as you went to the bathroom.

AMBER: Yeah, nice try!

US: What’s inside it?

AMBER: Just my wallet. It’s a party - pack light!
