Theo Richards Switches It Up

theodora richards to wilhelmina.jpgTheodora Richards has left IMG to join her sister Alexandra on Wilhelmina’s roster.

IMG plays home to all the rock star kids: Lou Doillon, Julia Roitfeld, Liv Tyler, Elettra Rossellini, Daisy Lowe (yes, we use the term rock star liberally), but the gorgeous blond Richards sisters, daughters of Rolling Stone Keith and model Patti Hansen, are now holding down the Wilhelmina fort.

Theo’s starred in ads for Tommy Hilfiger and Roberto Cavalli for H&M, but maybe, with a package deal for the two sisters, they’ll get to join their dad in the realm of luxury advertising.

A family portrait for LV? Sounds do-able.

First Look: Alexander Wang

aw aw09 10.JPGWhat follows is a list of why Alexander Wang is the most perfect Valentine.

1. This isn’t a fashion show, it’s a rock concert at Roseland Ballroom.

2. He’s incorporated both chocolate and tequila into his pre-show cocktails. They might taste foul but it’s a valiant and appreciated effort.

3. Ok, so he has nothing to do with this one but walking into a venue shoulder to shoulder with a Margiela clad Sarah Jessica Parker is kind of cool.

4. The black bandage leggings - like an Herve dress for your legs - make me wish I was sitting next to Rachel Zoe so we could die together.

5. My box of Sweethearts are 90% white and that never happens.

6. He opens the show with “Welcome to the Jungle” which means the front row - Fabiola, Lauren Santo Domingo, Erin Wasson, Pamela Love, Keegan Singh, Jen Brill, the Richards sisters, Derek Blasberg - is seriously rocking out. I like to think Anna, Bee, DVF and SJP are rocking out, too.

7. He takes his bow wearing a backstage pass around his neck, as if they aren’t going to let him in.

8. This is unrelated to his Valentine qualifications, but there was fur. Discuss.

Teen Vogue Rocks

teen vogue cover with mean girl.jpgDid you know Teen Vogue is hosting a concert weekend?

On Sunday, Theodora Richards will host the teen bible’s first ever band battle, Rock Meets Runway, for a panel of judges, including Debbie Harry. Apparently, they launched a contest to find the best new girl band a while back, and have narrowed the choices down to three groups (Snake Pliskin, Half Demon Doll and Pike) who’ll perform for the sold-out crowd at the Hard Rock Cafe in Times Square. The winning bands get a record deal with Wicked Cool Records, and we’re pretty sure this is just the beginning of an annual bash.

We don’t know when Teen Vogue decided to be a little Sassy, but we welcome it. As long as nobody called Pussycat anything ever wins.

Book My Mom!

Dakota Johnson Yesterday, The Daily reported that Dakota Johnson is IMG Models’ newest addition.

The 18-year old is tall, blonde, thin, and adorable, but there’s one thing separating her from other teenage models:

Her mom is Melanie Griffith.

Just in case you forget, the screen icon is featured as part of Dakota’s portfolio package on IMG’s website, though we don’t think you can book them as a package deal unless you have a really good day rate.

We hope this trend continues among other model daughters of famous moms. For instance, in their stable of thoroughbred girls, IMG has Theodora Richards (daughter of Keith Richards and Patti Hansen), Margherita Missoni (daughter of Angela Missoni), Daisy Lowe (daughter of Pearl Lowe and Gavin Rossdale; stepdaughter of Gwen Stefani), and Julia Restoin Roitfeld (la fille de Carine).

Wouldn’t it be cool if all those moms got onto their daughter’s comp cards, too?

Fashion Is Fun

All Tomorrow’s Parties: At 60 Thompson, an O.C. Reunion

thom6.jpg
Room 100 is the new magazine from 60 Thompson, the boutique hotel.

It stars Lydia Hearst, Theodora Richards, Olivia Wilde, and Adrian Brody.

Last night’s party for its launch was much the same, except instead of Adrian Brody, it was Adam Brody, who arrived in a gray Adidas track jacket and left with our heart. Ugh.

The rest of the cast: May Andersson, Byrdie Bell, Olivia Palermo, Arden Wohl, half the Strokes, Style.com’s Laird Borelli, WWD’s Venessa Lau, designer Erica Davies, stylists Susan Joy and Alexis Zipp, and ELLE’s Carol Han.

The night was a blend of tequila and black satin halter necks, and lipgloss pulp smeared the air. The bathroom was a crush of girls whispering about their crushes, and even the lobby spilled over with status bags. Arden was behind the DJ booth and she played a lot of Revolver; we loved it, but not as much as the photogs.

In the corner, Olivia giggled, “you need a better camera,” but she still posed like a model when we pressed the On switch.

Your Bag

What’s In Your Bag: Holly Dunlap

holly.jpg
It was only a matter of time before an actual bag designer released her clutch into our clutches, and here we go: meet Holly Dunlap, former Lily Pulitzer head, current creative director of Hollywould, and marathon party girl.

The first time we met Holly, we were knocking back Cuervo shots in her Elizabeth Street boutique - of course, that was before she got Lydia Hearst and Theodora Richards to model her designs in a calmer setting (the ground floor of Christie’s; Tinlsey Mortimer was also in the show).

Now Holly has a showroom across the street from Chanel, but the guts of her bag (which she designed herself) could belong to the bad girl in your sorority…

Fashion Week

Fashion Legacy Party: Julia, Theodora, and You

julia r copy.jpg

Just hours before Fashion Week starts, and here’s the latest in boldface confirmations: Adrien Brody of movie star fame (or of kissing Halle Berry fame?) will arrive tonight at the Box, where Mercedes-Benz holds the official Fashion Week kickoff party. Since Adrien is a former face of Zegna, he’ll probably be at their first ever fashion show this Sunday. Joining Adrien at The Box is Julia Restoin-Roitfeld, the current face of Tom Ford Beauty (and daughter of Carine Roitfeld, the French Vogue legend).

Meanwhile at the Soho Grand, another fashion legacy - Theodora Richards - hosts Jeremy Kost’s first art show. Titled Not A Play Area, the show features photos of Jeremy’s muses, including Theo, her sister Alexandra, and socialite Lydia Hearst. Insiders are already buzzing about the exhibit’s neon sculpture, and the rumors of a clothing line by the emerging artist. Hmm…

Also on the books tonight: Glamour’s dinner and charity t-shirt party at Milk Studios, Miss Sixty’s show and after party, Vogue’s First Looks with Bally, and that teeny tiny party hosted by Vogue Italia… where will you be?
