PS We Like This

psimadethis.jpegMuch to my chagrin, I’ve never been very crafty. And I’m always incredibly jealous of people who are.

Enter Erica Domesek and her super cute website, PS I Made This. It’s packed with some of the cutest DIYs we’ve seen and they really don’t seem crazy complicated, even for the craftily-challenged.

Actually our Tom Binns post the other day inspired her to whip up this cool necklace project just for us.

I’m impressed and currently on the lookout for some faux fur to make myself a little vest just like she did.

The More Binns the Better

karlie kloss in tom binns.jpgTom Binns is a busy busy man.

The jeweler extraordinaire, whose Paris showroom is probably packed at the moment is working on bags for spring - or one bag in particular under his own name. It’ll be white leather, covered in studs, and available in three sizes according to WWD.

But he’s also working on a bag in collaboration with Corto Moltedo, the “Sunday Bag,” smothered in gold crucifix necklaces. Then there’s the soccer themed bags and jewelry with Puma for the World Cup and a collection of wearable sculptures for Art Basel.

It’d be much easier to make time for DIYs if Binns could spare a few minutes to teach us arts and crafts. Maybe we’ll just have to buy this, for inspiration, instead.

Tom Binns Falls Down the Rabbit Hole

Disney staged a wacky tea party at MAGIC in Vegas yesterday to kick off a season of Alice in Wonderland inspired fashion collaborations leading up to the release of Tim Burton’s film. First up is jewelry by Tom Binns based on the characters of Alice, the Mad Hatter, the Red Queen, the White queen and the White Rabbit. (You have to get through a couple minutes of corny before you get a little taste of the baubles.)

The collection for Spring 2010 will contain six limited edition pieces priced between $1000-$2000. Binns will also created a lesser priced 35 piece collection for the Mouse House ranging from $100-$500.
