You may already know that two of the most anticipated ads for Spring 09 have finally been revealed - Chanel’s, with mystery girl Heidi Mount posing in Karl’s Vermont home, and Daisy Lowe on a white bed for Marc by Marc.
And what do these two things have in common?
A certain austerity we think we might start seeing in other campaigns, too…
“He requested seven loaves of Pennsylvania Wheat Bread and a tub of I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter to be brought directly from New York to the set. My only job was bringing him the bread and the fake butter. Karl paid me $500 to do it, plus he paid off my $200 speeding ticket.” - an assistant from the Chanel shoot in Vermont, to Page Six Magazine.
So, I really did go to Vermont this weekend, and I really did try to keep an eye out for Karl even though I was really on the wrong side of the state. But guess what? Karl’s not the only one moving his off-hours fun site to the green mountains -
On Friday, I stopped by Parker Pie, the only pizzeria for many miles in West Glover, VT (pop. couldn’t be more than 600). Just as soon as I walked in, someone exclaimed, “YOU’LL NEVER BELIEVE WHO WAS JUST HERE!”
Who?
“Tyra Banks! She sat in the back with some guy and had a pizza.”
A reporter way up at The Burlington Free Press, is hot on Karl’s Chanel-shooting trail.
Check out the first of her videos stalking the Kaiser GG style (ok, murderer style), and her thoughts on whether “Vermontonia” will influence Chanel Fall 09, and on the house itself (no one seems to realize that this “Lake Champlain” home on Grand Isle is literally on Rte 2.)
