Five questions for the Fashion Week calendar:
1. Why is a man named Cesar Galindo going up against both Anna Wintour and the Mayor of New York City by staging a runway show in the middle of Fashion’s Night Out? And how does he have that much money to throw away? Also, is he related to Rudy Galindo?
2. Why does Vladimir Roitfeld get a box on Tuesday September 15th (which, by the way, he shares with DSquared2 which is interesting)? His event, or whatever it is, lasts from 6-11 and overlaps with Narciso’s show.

Meet Keegan.
He’s a super stylist - you’ve seen his work whether you’re a Teen Vogue kind of girl or a Purple kind of boy because he’s all over the place.
He’s also one of the sweetest people I’ve ever met in this crazy mixed up industry and since I’ve wanted to know just what a stylist does all day since the moment I learned styling was a career, I asked if I could follow him around.
We started out listening to Hole at his office/apartment in Chelsea before heading uptown to pull jewelry from Eddie Borgo for a shoot. Then we skipped downtown to KCD’s press preview and were about to go to Dossier’s party at the Tribeca Grand when we realized, wait, that’s tomorrow - because when you’ve got this much going on and your assistant’s on spring break, it’s kind of hard to keep up.

Word broke awhile back that Julia Roitfeld would be the Spring 09 face of Mango following campaigns with Gap, Tom Ford and Rock & Republic.
She’s joined by her brother and Lily Donaldson beau Vladimir (chosen for their position in “the new generation of European high society”) as well as Dakota Griffith - Melanie and Don Johson’s spawn - in the Spanish chain’s latest campaign.
Carine’s daughter might be super famous within the high fashion industry but we fail to see how she’ll connect to the same customer targeted by Penelope Cruz. Unless of course it’s the fact that she’s so pretty it doesn’t matter what her last name is.
Anyway, Julia poses in a white trench, white jeans and the most Carrie Bradshaw-ish flower we’ve seen in a very long time. They should have had Carine style the shoot - then we might brave this cold for a trip to Mango.
Fun fact:
Carine Roitfeld’s boy spawn, Vladimir, is showing an exhibit of his work during New York Fashion Week next month.
No word on exactly where or when the ex-model’s presenting his work yet, but the budding photographer is showing during Fashion Week, so maybe we can expect tons of photos of his ex, Lily D?
Guess we’ll see.
Update: Actually, we got it wrong. It looks like Vladimir is just curating the photography exhibit (as in, they’re not actually his photos) in conjunction with Louis Vuitton (not LVMH) on Feb 17th to show the work of three photographers: Salim Langatta, PC Valmorbida and David Mushegain. A portion of the proceeds from the limited edition prints will go to benefit AMFAR.
There’s a juicy piece of information tucked into a WWD article this morning - Julia Restoin-Roitfeld just shot her baby brother, Vladimir, for Rock & Republic’s new ad campaign.
We’ll ignore for a second that Carine’s spawn should be posing for the likes of Alaia or even Earnest Sewn, something a bit edgier than Victoria Beckham’s old denim partner, and instead focus on how awesome a sibling photo shoot would be.
We know models are models because they can shed their inhibitions for any photographer, but with a brother or sister behind the camera even a mere mortal would let go. In fact, we think the family photo shoot trend should move more in this direction.
We predict amazing results.
