Wang Online

alexanderwanglaunchesecommerce.jpgAs if we needed one more place to be convinced to part with our hard-earned dollars in favor of anything designed by Alexander Wang, he goes and launches e-commerce on his website.

And Style.com’s got a secret code to get you in and spending even that much faster. There’s even a mini-film too.

We’ve heard from designers in the past that they occasionally run into some trouble with merchants (both web and brick and mortar) when they start selling their wares online. While we can see how that does make sense as a competitor, especially if you’re also on the internet, you can’t really stop someone from selling their own stuff, now can you?

Here’s hoping no one tries bullying Wang. We’ll be logging on as soon as possible.

From the Far(fetch) Side

farfetch.JPGLet us introduce you to your newest obsession: Farfetch.com.

Think of it as Net-a-Porter’s cooler, European cousin. The online store stocks items from around the world, culled from the best, most loved fashion boutiques in cities like Paris, Milan and Florence. It hosts an eclectic mix of designers from Balenciaga to Cheap Monday, with lots of stuff in the middle like Erotokritos, MM6, and Louise Goldin. There’s even some lines we’ve never even heard of but now decidedly love.

Admittedly, some of the prices are high, but shipping is free for purchases over $175, so it could be worse. Plus isn’t it worth it to be able to say, “oh, this thing? I just picked it up at a boutique in Copenhagen” ?

Odin’s Online

robert geller jacket on odin site.jpgThe launch party for Odin’s e-commerce site might not be until Thursday night, but the site itself is already up and running, and we’re kind of loving it already.

Not only can you finally shop from the site (though we highly suggest the store itself), but they’ve included interviews with each featured designer and a news section to keep you up to date with in-store events.

As for right now, the site still has some quirks, but we can see where it’s going -

Think of a marriage between shopping and a good blog. And you can just imagine how we feel about that.

Lauren Conrad, Fashion Blogger?

lauren conrad hand puppet.jpgAnd you thought Faran was a flake.

Today, Lauren Conrad announced a new partnership with College Tonight, a social networking site aimed at campus communities.

Not only will Lauren be paid a lot to blog her opinions on the site, she’s also being given her own opportunity to showcase her style, and of course, her burgeoning fashion line, which she’s aligned with ShopIntuition in order to drive eCommerce.

Now, we think Lauren Conrad should absolutely take advantage of every business opportunity possible, and so if an internet company offers her a gig, cool -

But we can’t help noticing: Lauren’s life on The Hills seems a lot more like Juicy Campus, not some sanitized attempt at the social networking that Facebook and MySpace already enable college kids to do.

But maybe that kind of tawdry network is more of a Heidi endeavor?
