Hello Fashionista Readers!
I have a job opportunity that I thought one of you might be interested in. We're currently looking for a stylist for a short film project.
It is a comedy with a small cast and the writer's last film was nominated in a Film Festival. You don't need to have tons of experience. But you will be required to be on set from Oct 16th-20th in New York City.
For more information please contact Jeff at phobiafilms@gmail.com.
Thanks!

I'm graduating at the end of May with a B.A. in Apparel Design and as we all know, the job market is a scary, scary place.
I get daily StyleCareers e-mails, check WWD obsessively and have been devoting every extra minute to sending out resumes and pestering every single contact I have - all to no avail.
I've reached a point where I just don't know what else to do or where else to look and I know there are tons and tons of people in the exact same position, but I thought it'd be worth asking advice.
Is there some secret I don't know or something more I should be doing?
Seriously, anything would be appreciated. Thank you!

Hello all! I'm new on here!
I'm planning to move out to LA in the next few months, and was wondering if anyone had any tips for me. I'm hoping to get a job as a wardrobe stylist, but I don't have any contacts in LA or even NYC.
Does anyone have any advice for where to start? Any contacts? Good places to go to be able to get my name out there?
Any information would be appreciated!
Thanks!

As many people are, I am in a dilemma. I am going to be graduating from college in May, and I am in dire need of employment. Ever since I was 12 years old, I wanted to be a part of the fashion industry. This year, I came close to realizing my ultimate dream of becoming a buyer.
Neiman Marcus had selected me to go to their second round of interviews in Dallas in November of last year. I then received an email saying that they would be postponing the interviews until this spring. In retrospect, I should have seen something bad coming. Fast forward to last month when I receive an email saying that the Executive Development Program - the program that I was so close to being a part of - will not be conducted this year. My heart sank.
So, what I am asking for is some help. I would LOVE to have a career in the fashion industry. While being a buyer for the likes of Bergdorf, Saks, and Barneys is my ultimate dream, I am interested in many facets of the industry. Fashion PR and working in the "closet" (like Christina on Ugly Betty) are other paths that I would consider taking. I would like to stay on the East Coast. International would be highly intriguing (particularly London), but there would have to be MAJOR incentive to make that huge of a leap.
If anyone would be willing to pass along my resume - or, better yet, hire me - I would appreciate it. Please contact me if you have any leads or opportunities for me. Help me to make my childhood dreams come true!

Hi Fashionistas,
I'm a sophomore in college majoring in Broadcast Journalism with a minor in Apparel Merchandising.
Does anyone know of any internship opportunities with any designers or fashion magazines in Los Angeles?
I am looking to start in the spring. Please let me know!

Hello everyone,
I'm moving to New York next year to begin my fashion career. I want to become a stylist/editor and I know that I'll have to do a lot of interships and work very hard, but that's not the problem - my problem is that I can't figure out where to go to school.
I'm finding it hard to relate my aspirations to the choices at Parsons (actually, can anyone tell me about any other schools?) I know they offer several paths of study like Fashion Merchandising, Accessory Design, Retail Buying and so on...but what do those have to do with styling/editing? I also have a bit of a language barrier with English, so i'm not entirely sure that I've misunderstood - maybe I'm just missing something?
Can anyone give me any advice on what kind of study to take up if I want to be a stylist or editor in the future?
Thanks beforehand.

Dear Fashionista,
I am in my last year of my Bachelor of Arts (majoring in Political studies and Spanish) and Law undergraduate degree. After five years of my studies I've come to a realization that I really do not want to pursue a career in any of these fields. Instead, I am beginning to have the courage to pursue something I actually ENJOY - fashion, design and all things aesthetically pleasing.
Ideally I would love to work at a fashion magazine; editing, reporting, writing. Do you have any suggestions/ideas on what my next step could be? Is it a worthwhile to go to a fashion/media school or should I work my charm to get any bottom-level job to build up my CV?? I know the industry is incredibly competitive but I would regret not even having a go at this whence I am an old lady.
Any comments or suggestions would be so greatly appreciated!
Thank you!
