Dye-able shoes in New York?

Dec 10, 2007 @ 2:42am

Here's a question for the Fashionista crowd...my cousin's wedding is coming up, I'm a bridesmaid, and I need to get my hands on a nice pair of shoes that I can have dyed to match the dress - luckily its a nice shade of deep red. Hopefully the shoes will be pretty, available in Manhattan or Brooklyn, and not too expensive (lets face it, I'm going to wear them once.) Other than that they can look like anything...are there any stores or boutiques you would look to find these? Or just hit up the standard wedding stores in the garment district?

P.S. I did think to look online but I'm a little wary because Im going to be standing in them all day and if they're not comfortable I'm going to be pretty screwed...

Payless Dye-ables, so cheap they're practically free:

Faran, I would find a pair of more expensive red shoes, a great pair of pumps or peep toes can definitely be worn again after the wedding has long past.

Back when I was in high school, I remember all the gals would get their prom shoes dyed at Bakers!
