Runway Music

mia does marc by marc.jpgI have been looking high and low to find some exceptional runway music for a fashion show that I will be putting on in March or April. The show will be twenty minutes long which means I need at least a few songs that will flow well together.

I've been really into M.I.A. and will probably use a couple of her songs but I don't want to play only her music, even though she is amazing.

The music should be upbeat and fast paced. I don't want any classical sounding music, I need it to be very modern and updated - remixes are great.

anything by Girl Talk, The Ting Tings, MGMT, or Justice would be good runway music.

Girl Talk. Absolutely great idea. Ladytron, maybe Le Tigre or New Young Pony Club. Don't do MGMT or Vampire Weekend. They were playing both in Cusp and Bennetton this weekend.

indie electronic songs are the best for runway. if you type 'indie electronic' into itunes search, it'll give you a whole bunch great song ideas. then you can always browse through the different artists. hope that helps!

JUSTICE, YELLE, MGMT... justice has also remixed mgmt's stuff too =) but yelle is WAAAY fun (and will be in LA on nov 1st!)

The brazilian band CSS have really up beat music. very fun. My favourite is "Music is my hot hot sex". lol

one song that would be brillant is i like you so much better when your naked by ida maria, i used we will rock for my first show as a finale it got everyone clapping and it was perfect!
