Hi guys, I need advice on a bag situation.
I have been planning on buying a large brown leather tote for a while, which, if I buy something even sort of nice, is going to be expensive for me.
So I just want to make sure that brown is the way to go. I wear mostly black coats and shoes but black seems so boring - and brown leather looks so good when it ages.
Most of my smaller bags, and evening bags are black so will brown work for day even if my wardrobe's mainly black?

Totally. Maybe get a lighter colored brown, though. I think black and tan look really chic together.

Yes, stick with luggage (camel, just like in the pic above) and it will look great with black, blue, etc., etc.!

i recently invested in a designer bag, and i got it in a light brown because it's classy looking and looks good for every season. i think brown is a good way to go.

go with a brown leather. its timeless and looks good with a variety of colours. it can be dressed up. my new fav outfit is my new leather carmel bag, jeans, simple white tank. and aviaters...a m a z i n g

Totally Agree, a tan coloured soft leather brown bag is timeless and very chic, I always think this type of bag is great in summer with some cute sunglasses

Thank you Fashionista and all the commenters! I wasn't going to post this but the responses were really helpful! I went with a Foley and Corinna city tote in maple. (Which is a camel-ish color) It is coming in the mail so I can't say it is perfect yet but I think it is going to work. Thanks!

i have that same bag and i carry it every day! it's the first bag in a long time that i can carry with all my outfits and is the right size for all kinds of events- perfect! make sure that you treat the leather with something waterproff cause the leather can spot easily

You can never go wrong with a good brown bag, thought I would go on the luggage side rather than a chocolate. That being said- the bags I get the most wear out of on a consistent basis are turquoise and emerald green. But that's just me and I don't wear a ton of color clothing-wise...
