Model Quest

Sep 02, 2008 @ 5:00pm

amex dress.jpgI go the University of Illinois and have taken on the massive project of single handedly improving the midwest's fashion.

To start, we're holding our first of two annual fashion shows this October. We're looking for models but can't seem to get the word out.

The clothes are amazing. They're all made from recycled materials - think coke cans, bubble wrap etc - but we need amazing models to wear them!

Any advice on how to get girls to come to our castings?

The only real requirement is that they're at least 5'7''and around a four or a six - the artists met this summer and discussed which body types we should design for - we're trying to respect fashion and the girls' bodies.

Thanks a bundle!

I'd say put up a posting on craigslist as well as contact local agencies...then go up to girls who fit the profile on the street, tell them how beautiful you think they are, and basically beg them to participate.

Try putting a lot of fliers on the quad, the union and in the dorms. Hopefully you can get a lot of attention that way.

If not, do what they do in the real world. Stop the hot bitches on the street! Best of luck on your quest to change the Midwest!

I go to the university of illinois too and i guarantee that a lot of girls would be interested in participating, but a lot of it probably has to be through word of mouth or by local postings in retail shops (try patiya, general eccentric, etc). perhaps get the greek system involved? if you need help i would be more than willing to lend a hand. jboh2@illinois.edu

I go to the University of Illinois and I would love love love to help you jump start a fashion phenomenon! If you need any assistance, please let me know. I am sickened that there is no fashion curriculum here, let alone an organization of some sort. I'm thinking of going into fashion journalism right now, but I have a strong interest in fashion altogether. My email is aburman2@illinois.edu if you want to chat. Ciao!

PS If you need help finding models, especially in the Greek system, I know a ton of size 2's.
