A Faux Leather Fix

Oct 21, 2008 @ 8:42am

serena leather bomber jacket.jpgI'm searching for an amazing faux leather jacket and I need tips to point me in the right direction!

I still haven't decided if I should stick with basic black. I'd be open to a caramel or rust color, too.

I'm just not sure where one begins to look for a cute version.

I love the ones that I see in vintage shops, but they're always real leather and it has to be faux.

Where do I start my search?

I invested in a jacket from Urban Outfitters. It isn't real leather, but it sure is comfy. I guess it doesn't help that I get a 40% discount when shopping at UO, but I think it's still worth the price!

I just got one yesterday at Forever 21 for $37.50 and I love it. The style is called "Rexy". It's currently listed on their website.

I agree with the previous posts: H&M, Forever 21, Topshop... and even Target (I got one there about 1 1/2 years ago and I get compliments on it all the time!)

I too am searching for a faux leather jacket (because I can't afford the real thing) and it's good to know that you all like the ones you've found at the stores you mentioned. I mostly see them online, but it's hard to tell if they'd look good/not cheap in real life.

I hoped you've helped littlewing as much as you helped me!

i agree that H&M is a good place to start. I got one that's more of a bomber type- a little roomier than the trend now- and i got one that's really fitted and thinner, but the liner still keeps it warm enough for GA winters. That UO jacket however, it really pretty and looks like it's cut well- at least online.

k-mart has an amazing collection of carmel and silver, but actually it's a copper colour.and they are oversize and inexpensive.look in the plus sized clothes.

H&M is great. I got the bomber style jacket in grey and LOVE it, my daughter even wears it. The UO jacket is sharp too, but for 20 more bucks you can get real leather from Victoria's Secret. I know you personally don't want real leather, just puttin' out there.

I just got one (super classic, nicely tailored, a little cropped) last week for $39 at H&M and really love it. You might want to buy up a size or two though...
Good luck with your search!
