Interview in the Big City

Mar 05, 2009 @ 7:59pm

devil wears prada outfit way too much in my opinion.jpgSo I have a few interviews with companies in the fashion industry next weekend, and I'm having a really hard time finding something to wear.

I need to look professional, yet young, trendy, and fashion foward.

Most of all, I want to look special!

Any suggestions?

Okay. You want to look on trend and chic but still covered up. No cleavage and/or short dresses. Do a trench, a dress that is slightly above the knee, tights (if the weather permits) and something on trend, say peep toes (with the tights they'll look of the moment. This is the time to impress them so a high end bag will do just this. No grunge, very neat and well mantained look. Hope this helps.

Thank you so much! I was thinking sort of the same thing, but I figured a second opinion would help. One of them is a company I already work for, as a sales associate, so I may wear one of their items and incorporate it with other pieces in my wardrobe.

just had a class about this! dress a little better (more professional/conservative) than those that already work there. remember they have earned the right to dress however creatively/trendy they want because they already HAVE the job. keep it clean, don't do bare legs, don't wear a heavy scent. let your resume or portfolio and interview show how stunningly creative you are, not a toooo crazy outfit.
also as far as wearing clothing from the company, my teacher said when calvin klein was on campus they said they don't want to see you wearing ck in the interview but represent the ck look without their actual pieces.
and good luck!!!
